I know this sounds weird, but now that I see those extended claws... I'm getting more and more of a Unicron vibe. Maybe Unicron is not in the movie, but Bay took bits and pieces of Unicron's features and applied them to Lockdowns ship?

I mean, bay has always found ways to squeeze in iconic characters, albeit not really looking ANYTHING like their G1 selves (Scorponok, Devastator I'm looking at you)

 

Right. And what's funny... not even a Transformer in it.

 

So i guess the giant ass ship doesnt count for anything?

Oh I certainly wouldn't say that. But I've seen no confirmation so far that it is actually a Transformer itself.

 

I feel like if there was a giant robot it'd ruin the scene for me. Having just a couple of fearful humans, running in fear of a giant monster of a ship is a great image. Having Optimus in robot mode standing would ruin just how big and intimidating the thing is, a bit.

With no giant robot, its like "Ooh...Shit. Things are bad."

With Optimus Prime, it'd be more "Don't worry. Optimus has this."

I prefer the former.

I mean, if it was Optimus as a truck, THAT I'd be better with.

But I'd rather no robot than robot here, in this poster.

 

Good grief, so now any random screen grab cropped to rectangular dimensions with some arbitrary text thrown in = a so-called "poster"?

Wonder, is this intended to be a riff on the patchwork ship that Lockdown flew around in during the TF: Animated series? If so nice upgrade! Not sure what the crab design has to do with its function in the movie, but it makes for a nice alienesque and aggressive silhouette.
