BOO!    

 

I'm okay with this for three reasons-

1) Neither of these characters had much to offer to the story beyond a cool CGI model and a cutesy accent (in the case of Dino). Not to mention the fact that Dino's voice actor passed last year I believe, so that presents even further reason to let his character fade into obscurity.

2) Hasbro probably still doesn't have the license for the Ferrari on which Dino is based, so even if they did get another voice actor to replace the original, no toy equals FAIL.

3) You don't want to crowd the cast with too many robots with zero personality, which frankly is most of them unfortunately.

 

Nelson is being vague. The answer 'correct' could possibly be towards the design comment. Also don't take it too seriously, remember a couple of months ago when he said 'trailer on Friday'?  

 

Yeah, they where great characters especially Sideswipe, but I want something new.

 

(Insert overused Darth Vader meme here)

 

I just pray that this time they take some of the story time to infuse real personalities into ALL of the bots beyond a cockney accent or a cool CGI model. Sideswipe is probably my favorite movie toy, but his character sucked pure and complete ass in the movies. He had few lines and didn't do anything truly in character. In other words he was meaningless and replaceable to the overall story. Which again, is the major reason I won't miss him in AOE.

 

I would have liked to see Sideswipe return   We'll see, things could change.

 

I Liked Sideswipe. But maybe this is a good thing more room for the Dinobots.

 

That sucks. Sideswipe may not have done much, but he was still a character who was present and spoke. Hell, he's one of the few outside the initial lineup to have a closeup.

 

Not surprised for Dio given the issues they had with Ferrari, Sideswipe is a bit more of a surprise.

 

That was overly sarcastic, just some people couldn't see it.

 

Not to mention Francesco Quinn passing away, DOTM being his final film.

 

I just hope they don't just drop them with no explanation as to where they went or what happened to them.

 

Doesn't matter to me, they were both characterized quite thinly in the films. This is generalized, but they weren't much more than "cool" bad-ass types mostly there to do stuff in the background while the humans and Optimus took care of the important stuff. I'd say it's a shame there won't be a chance to change that but I doubt if it'd be any different this time around. I'd also be bothered by them potentially disappearing for no reason but that sadly wouldn't be anything new.

 

I think he did understand the question & answered it fairly clearly. Tho I do remember that trailer rumor  

 

Movie-verse Sideswipe is too close in character to Drift.
Dino was never going to return.
Ratchet if he does return will probably only be in robot mode.

So pretty much every other Autobot other than Optimus and Bumblebee will be new (Well other than Wreckers, but they don't have a character between the three of them)

 

Man that sucks I know its a long shot to ever see Sunstreaker and Sideswipe in a live action movie, but to take Sideswipe out of it sucks.

 

Sad that he had a less relevant role than Jolt. Though I'll be honest I'm always glad to be rid of characters with dumb names due to marketing reasons (he woudl have been better as Mirage). And I'm actually glad Wheeljack got renamed to Que - this way I don't have to look at that atrocious head design and acknowledge that that is a wheeljack in any way shape or form.

 

Seriously I would have been happier if Bumblebee wasn't returning I mean is he gonna end up Mark Wahlberg's 20some foot shadow now instead of Shia's. I just say "Kill the damn Bee already".Also I don't really care if they get rid of all the characters and just have all of the Dinobots wreaking havok on the humans by eating them,stomping them into the ground,and just running amuck,that would just suit me just fine.
