Dinosaurs or there's no point. Put them in defensive roles of high-value targets so the disguise thing plays a backseat to being ungodly powerful. Simple.

If they're of the same build quality as Grimlock, then I'm glad we're not getting them. I threw away my FOC Grimlock after opening it because it was a horrible mess of super-thin panels and extremely poor quality plastic. The T-rex arms couldn't even stay on if you tried to move them...forget transforming him without them both falling off. I have cardboard models with better build quality than that crap.
Am I the only one tired of seeing Dinobots everywhere? I was actually somewhat relieved when Bay said they wouldn't be in his movies... I like them just as much as the next guy, but I'm tired of seeing them everywhere and everyone celebrating them like they're the best thing to happen to Transformers... If Dinobots are in the movies a part of me will be happy but another won't help but feel dissappointed.
After FOC "saved" the Dinobots by shoving them down our throats and then sweeping them under the rug, I'd be happy if the only Dinobot I ever see again is a Shakespeare quoting velociraptor. And maybe Paddles.

The toy is not that bad by any means, weakest of that line? Probably though I think the voyager Soundwave is worse. Not to mention the atrocity that is Bruticus. On the whole the entire FOC line is a joke compared to even the more recent Generations releases. Designs are bad, size, and value are down, I don't know why anyone buys them. But anyway. Grimlocks modes regardless of how low quality he may seem, are the most game accurate out of any from that line. If they made them all voyagers and got as close as they did with him, but better, thicker plastic, less of a shell feel they'd be great. At the end of the day though, all they have to do is stand on my shelf though.
The mp isn't that different, think about it, Grimlocks always been a butt former. The trex head and arms don't even really transform, they just get out of the way.
Did that give us a Deluxe Hatchet and Crowbar to go with Crankcase? No. Did Megatron getting a new and better design in DOTM give us a new leader class toy? No. Did all the Dinobots get made into toys from FOC? Nope. Hasbro doesn't need to have an excuse. They make what they want, and what they think will sell. Regardless of how many collectors will buy the Dinobots, parents who don't understand them will just say "Oh little Jimmy, you already have the one that turns into a dinosaur! You don't need the other ones." Oh my god yes please I am so very tired of the dinobots at this point.
If they're Dinosaurs, I'm fine with it. We haven't gotten a good movie with dinosaurs in it lately. They'll also need an absolutely EPIC Entrance scene-the Wreckers got fucked with TF3 and their establishing scene. "These are the Wreckers. We don't let 'em off the base much, cause they're assholes." Really? Bullshit. I wanna see the Dinobots pull a Big Damn Heroes moment for their first scene: eat motherfuckers in their dinosaur mode, Grimlock in robot mode is impaling guys, and ripping spines out and tearing legs off and stuff...that stuff would be great. BUT that's just wishes and dreams and shit.

hatchet and crowbar are not well known decepticons, we didn't get a leader class blackout..or a full release of the final line of DOTM, FOC is a video game mainly released for fan of TF's and not all of the dinobots were playable characters in the game. Hasbro has given the excuse that kids now-a-days don't like dinosaurs for some reason, so thats why they haven't developed the entire cast of dino's. with the movie doing dino modes that would at the least jump start them trying to release them
Ok my take on the dinobots would be the way transformers prime went with the predicons, The predicons existed on cybertron millions of years ago created by the decepticons these beasts would roam around cybertron and cause massive destruction, the decepticons then moved them to earth for them to take over this planet, I would go down the lines of the autobots creating similar beasts to counter the predicons and these 2 factions fought each other, When the predicons moved to earth millions of years ago the autobot beasts followed and they had a massive fight and where injured very badly by the predicons and in order to survive the scanned the only thing present dinosaurs and then became the dinobts.. The dinobots and predicons fought a war on earth millions of years ago with the dinobots becoming eventual winners and with no purpose left for them they would then go in to stasis and hide away until needed again to nullify the predicon threat. I think this could work but I don’t know about on the big screen movie. I think in a series like transformers prime who could build up the story over a period of time it could.
