I like the crossovers. I read both series but it makes sense with 2013 toys being released with GI Joe/ Transformers theme

Sure, as long as neither Chu and Bay have nothing to do with it.

I am opposed for the reason, that those two films will be difficult to combine.

Every Transformers movie is already like a GI Joe crossover. The US Military is already in the forefront. Change Lennox and Epps's names to Duke and Roadblock. Hell, change N.E.S.T. to GI Joe. Boom crossover.

Most definitely... In fact... given that Hasbro already OWNS Joe... you'd think after the first movie worked soooo well, they could've featured the Joes in some form with the second one... Oh what's that? What about NESTS? To hell with them... the plots for Movie 1 and RotF were throw-away enough they could've easily put Joe in their place. >_>

I really wouldn't enjoy this. I think a crossover between GI Joe and Transformers are better left to media such as comics. Combining them together on the big screen would just be a shit show given what we've already seen from the two separate movie franchises.

EDIT: Although people are bringing up good points that it does already feel like a crossover in a way ...

What needs to happen is putting Bay on special effects, then get a real director. Haven't seen Joe2 yet, so can't comment on Chu.

You're better off not seeing it.

I think you'd have to reset both movie franchises in order to do it correctly. Start fresh.

I think they should play it safe and start small with a single season cartoon show or animated movie that has a small supporting toy line (G.I.Joe resolute sized) to see how the public reacts to it. A big budget film seems like too much too soon.

If they do follow this and make a toy line, I hope they follow a Star Wars Transformers approach and give us Transformers characters that turn into Joe vehicles with little human pilots to ride in them.

Why? This doesn't need to happen. Hollywood is too inbred, we need brand new directors! And like other comments above. The TF movies already feel like a TF GI Joe crossover already.

Pretty much this. No one watches Bay films for his overall direction... but for the action sequences and nonstop explosions.

If he could at least co-direct a film where he's calling the shots for action/explosions... and someone else handle the rest... the movies would improve sooo much. New writers would help too of course. >_>

I don't like the concept of the idea. It's bad enough the humans already take away the majority of the spotlight in the Bay movies.

Of course Jon M. Chu thinks it's a great idea because the guy is a geek. Geeks can say Transformers is like chocolate, GI Joe is like peanut butter, so lets throw the two together into something that gives you double your geeky goodness for the buck.

Sure some people didn't like GI Joe 2 but since the studio wouldn't let him reboot the whole thing so I really respect that Chu was able to go to get the series looking like GI Joe and Cobra again instead of that weird look the heroes and villains had in the first film. Putting Cobra Commander in a costume that looked like something Cobra Commander would wear earns him a ton of geek cred in my book.

Of course the big questions are who directs and do you go the something different route of the Transformers films or back toward the more familiar route of the GI Joe films?

Uh yeah no to this. Both series would need reset. Besides, there is enough constant complaining that there is too many humans in the TF films and you want to throw more into the mix? Plus I'm still trying to forget both of the Joe movies. Granted the last one was marginally better than the first, it was still a heaping pile. I would have liked seeing it before the reshoots and editing was done to see how much different it was. Also a total rip off of TF 1 with music just about copied from Linkin Park at the end of it.

This could only work if they rebooted both series.
