Did Transformers 4 Rip Off This Guy’s Design For The New Bumblebee?

...Mr. Vengeance’s 1967 Camaro. It took seven years to build, with all of the blood, sweat, and tears you’d imagine. It’s famous around the web. It also looks exactly like the “new” Bumblebee from Transformers 4.

Click on the link above for the full article and pics.

(I hope I've posted this in the right place.)

Wow they really look similar, I wonder if Michael Bay or someone from the movie is going to respond to this. Anyway I think one of the real highlight's of this article is this quote

"The worst thing would be for every little kid calling my car Bumblebee and others making bootleg Bumblebee clones.. that would suck."

It's just funny to me for some reason.

If you use generic parts that are for a popular car you will eventually see cars that are just like yours.
Kinda like every honda with halos or fart can mufflers then the fast and the furious copied them.

On the upside he may be getting many toys of his custom car and he doesn't seem to mind Bumblebee much.

I wonder how unique any of those mods are. You really can't go and say "he bought the same add-on I did, THIEF!!" Coincidences are bound to happen.

The fact that none of the BB pics are really all that clear is worth mentioning, I feel.

thats a pretty common look for first gen camaros. everyone likes rs style hideaway headlamps and adding fender flares, and done right they look great. its kind of like most people either restore one to factory original, or go all out road racer. typing in road race camaro on google image search brings up a third one (this one has an extra wing but check the fenders) in the top 8 pics

I've been to plenty of car shows with my throughout the years, and seen plenty of camaros like that. It a classic street rod look for camaros.

This was in the other thread. The guy's car doesn't have yellow on it like Bumblebee. Thus, other then having the same type of car, people won't be saying he copied Bumblebee.

Mh, probably a coincidence, they are not all that similar, anyways. The details are greatly different.

Well....Why not modify the body a little more? Kids can't mistake a different-looking Camaro for the new Bumblebee if they did that. Unless someone wants them to think it's him...But who would want to get fingerprints off of their old, shiny Camaro? :lol

You mean the friggin' pictures that were saying that the TF4 Camaro copied the side-view mirrors of this guy's Camaro... even though the housings are different shapes?

I'm not really seeing it. Maybe, maybe there was some inspiration, but they actually quite clearly aren't "ripping it off".

Exactly my point. If you look closely, you will actually see that the cars custom parts are actually rather different in nature, just the style is similar.

I doubt Michael Bay deliberately ripped off the design. It's just a coincidence.
