Hound, because... welll... he hasn't been in much of anything since G1.

 

It's cool to have Hound back in the spotlight (hopefully).

I have a feeling he'll end up filling the same "big guy" character archetype that Ironhide and Bulkhead filled anyway. Hopefully he's not a generic badass and has some character to him, again like Ironhide and Bulkhead before him.

In all honesty, I thought it would be Bulkhead. The type of vehicle and big size just said Bulkhead to me. Not that I have anything against Hound, but Bulkhead seemed like the better 'Bot to choose as a big army vehicle.

 

I was expecting it to be Bulkhead... Hound is supposed to be a Jeep...

 

I'm all for Hound being in the movies, but that alt mode screams Bulkhead.

 

Bulkhead would have made an easier transition for the kids and general audience (if they've at least seen the toys/recent shows) but I'm glad it's Hound. I'm really hoping there's a military characteristic that the military guys look up to. Like if he were designated a rank or something. I mean Hasbro designated Kup "Sargent"

I figured it was Bulky, but it doesn't bug me too much. I'm a bit more upset about the flippant disregard for Bumblebee, and a bit for Optimus' overtly flashy new alt mode.

As with the last 2 sequels, I'm sure there will be absolutely zero explanation for why the designs changed.

 

Doesn't matter- they are al name-slaps anyway.

When we say "Bulkhead", it aint THE Bulkhead because there's already been a couple of them; it would have been another character named Bulkhead- just like we now have a character named Hound.

The movies aren't G1, Animated or PRIME; so the names and alt modes are by default correct.

 

Bulkhead, because he's a big green truck, and I'm a hidebound fool.
It really doesn't matter. He'll do something cool for a minute and then die a horrible entertaining death.

 

At least they didn't call it Silverbolt.

 

Part of me wanted to see Bulkhead on the big screen, but part of me knows it won't do him justice. I don't really give a crap about Hound so they can butcher him all they want.

 

I think the bigger issue this throws up is the fact while specifically stating the characters are going to have a redesign blah blah etc etc Bay is showing himself to be making all the same errors as he has made three time before.

He claims to be listening to the fans and critics complaints about the, but he's clearly going to go down the 'Use more classic names, more butts and boobs and Bigger explosions' root.

Its about all his films do.

 

Bulkhead, because I love the Animated character and it would've been nice to see some characters not from the G1 continuity in the movie franchise.

 

I get the bad feeling that Hound's personality will be noting at all like previous versions of the character. Which is too bad because his G1 personality was pretty cool and could bring a friendlier feel to the Autobots in the movies.

At least with having a military themed bot like Hound I can hold out some vain thin hope maybe Hound can take the place of some of the human military action in the film. As much as they would butcher the personality I've been hoping for Warpath so Bay could get him military fix without humans stomping Decepticons left and right.

 

As long as it doesn't feed back into future television series and after this Hound is always portrayed as the big green guy because of his live-action movie appearance. Which of course would leave Bulkhead out in the cold too.  

 

I'm glad It's Hound. If the characters great, awesome. Hound hasn't really done anything in a long time. If the character sucks, oh well. I could care less about Hound, but would be rather annoyed at another bad depiction of one of Animated's amazing characters.

 

It just screams Bulkhead.
