Umm i would say more character development, maybe surviving Optimus and teleported away but heavily damaged   and maybe come back in DOTM and be destroyed

But then again there would be no point to ROTF i wish he came earlier though  

 

no he was a crappy character to begin with and should of never showed up in the movie in the first place

Before we ask whether he should have survived, we first need to establish that he didn't.

 

As far as DOTM is concerned, he didn't.

Anyway, I always found it fascinating how The Fallen is both THE bad guy of the movieverse and a one-off villain.

 

"Only a Prime can defeat me..." With a weakness like this he wouldn't manage to survive any other film that Optimus happens to also be in.

 

Should the Fallen have survived? No. I've never cared for ANY version of the Fallen as a character, frankly, plus I dislike seeing Megatron of all characters willingly kneel to anybody, at least without any evident intent to betray them unto death and take their power for himself.

 

In the movie-verse, if you a Transformer and has a big role or is unnamed, you're going to die....on-screen.

Other than Bumblebee, I think the only exception is Ironhide.

I don't think The Fallen could have risen from losing his face and heart.

 

Revive some of the other Decepticons along with Megatron and that could have been the Fallen for the film. Maybe even throw some line in the film where Prime talks about how the Fallen will return from the dead for revenge.

Just seems like a revenge plot by Megatron would have been more interesting than having Megatron grovel at the feet of some other robot. They could have even have kept the Star Harvester except instead of some crazy idea about it being the only source of Energon it could have been a weapon of mass destruction.

 

No, and I think it's dumb that he had no alternate mode.

Unless he lost the staff and his super cool powers there is no way he couldn't kill everyone or have to into the sidekick character for Sentinel.

 

Survived? No. Lasted longer and given us an epic fight? Yes.

The Fallen was a wasted opportunity. Could've just given all his power to Megatron and dropped The Fallen completely from the movie.

Maybe they could've had The Fallen's remains after the RotF end battle become some kind of Decepticon Matrix as a new mcguffin for a future movie (buried in the blowing sand after everyone has left the battlefield). Something so supposedly powerfully evil as The Fallen should've left a surviving bit of himself behind like all great bad guys do to make sure they endure in some form after a defeat. Could've been a way to revive Megatron - two bad guys merged into one evil revived whole with a Dark Matrix at his heart.

 

I wouldn't have minded seeing this happen.

 

So much potential gone to waste. There wasn't even any time to develop the Fallen or anybody because the movie was practically "The Wacky Adventures of Sam and Friends". Megatron should have had a hidden agenda to overthrow the Fallen and play a large part in his downfall. To quote G1 Megatron's final defying words "I belong to nobody!"

Has there, in the history of language EVER been a 3 word phrase as seismic and incredibly dripping with awesome as that?!?!?

If you bottled up that post, it would be called "Essence of Awesome", And if you poured a drop on Michael Bay, He would get burned like Drake did in Aliens, not from the "Essence of awesome"..It would be because he and his writing teams did not figure that out already, and make another few cool millions directly after ROTF or DOTM..

 

If The Fallen had survived ROTF, he could have been developed into a better character. Yet, it was interesting seeing Megatron decay in DOTM due to The Fallen's absence.
