Just to maybe convince Bay to add the dinobots, would you like him to go this way?

Not interested, no. Finding a way to shoehorn them in, and then giving them technorganic coatings as Alice had, seems pointless to me in terms of what's been established. That, and I don't see much of a point with adding another squad of brutal Autobot warriors with "problems" with authority, given that's basically been done to death in the movies, and not in a great way, either.

Sort of disappointed they didn't end up in Prime though.

I want dinobots so badly, but it will never happen. It is just too far of a fetch and it has no place in the live action movies, though I still would want them in, even if it made no sense. While we are on the topic, why does Bay hate the dinobots?

No. Please. Please, no. I'm still waiting for some good Dinobot toys. I don't want the first real Sludge released since G1 to be some Bay-verse monstrosity.

The Dinobots are just like good writing and quality in the Bay films - EXTINCT.

I like the Dinobots so the further we can keep Micheal Bay away from them the better. Thank goodness some school bully slapped him around with a Dinobot before taking his lunch money so he'd have his crazy hatred of Dinobots.

I don't think fans or not-fans need to worry. If Bay did include them they'd be so far removed for the classic dinobots in both look and execution that they'll barely be recognizable. He favors everything being a skeletal monster more than the huge tank designs that most Dinobot fans love.

In execution? What is the classic Dinobot execution? autobot team made into dinosaurs by Shockwave? Robot dinosaurs made by Wheeljack? Autobots restored from the Ark early who took on dinosaur alt modes before being buried? Rebellious team who follow Shockwave to prehistoric earth?

Seriously, he could do ANYTHING with the Dinobots and it wouldn't be straying from classic Dinobots. I mean, what is classic Grimlock? Sunbow's Dim witted powerhouse or Furman's wanky "badass" bruiser?

But no. I don't want Dinobots. I don't want Dinobots ever again. I'm so tried hat every single Transformers fiction must now include buckets of Dinobot fanwank.

They should bring Grimlock back as a tank, not a dinosaur.

His character is what people like about Grimlock, not just that he's a dinosaur.

And if the Autobots have to have a tank, who would people prefer?

I dunno'. If Bay doesn't like the idea of MASSIVE MECHANICL DINOSAURS THAT TRANSFORM INTO MASSIVE ROBOTS, I can't picture him liking the idea of them being techno-organic and having realistic dinosaur skin.

As much as I'd like to see them in the movies, I'd be willing to never see them in live-action if it meant I never have to witness the 300 page thread that would ensue about him screwing them up. :lol

Pretty much. It seems like a match made in heaven, but if the man doesn't want to do them, then so be it. *shrug*

Some people just can't seem to understand that he's the director and he's making choices that he wants to see in his movie. Same reasoning behind Favreau making Jarvis an AI program, same reasoning as to Nolan's re-imagining of Bane, same logic behind changes to characters in Snyder's MoS, same reasoning behind the differences in Spielberg's JP compared to the book, same reasoning as to why Singer didn't make Cyclops the main guy in his X-Men movies, same reason as to why Tim Burton didn't end up introducing Robin in his movies, same reasoning as to why Carnage as yet to appear in a live-action Spider-Man movie. Bay has just as much right to change what he wants and do what he wants in these movies as any other director would. And if that means he doesn't like the Dinobots and doesn't want to include them, then whatever.

And personally, I'm cool with that. Sometimes having an extreme fanboy in the director's chair can be just as bad as someone who doesn't give a crap about the franchise.

I love Peter Jackson, and I loved his King Kong movie. But I'd be lying if I said that I enjoyed the fact that, by his own admittance, he was such a huge massive fan of the original, which shows, seeing as how his film is essentially a shot-for-shot remake of the 1933 film.

If the director was a huge fanboy with a huge fanboy boner for Transformers, we could've just ended up with a shot-for-shot live-action remake of TT:TM. (mileage may vary on the outcome of that)

People would just think Warpath was a character based on Micheal Bay since Warpath talks like Micheal Bay describing one of his films. "Then blam, a Decepticon shows up and boom".

In actuality most of the differences were due to the way that Michael Crichton wrote the script. Most of it was his decision which parts should be cut out, with the exception of a few characterization switches.

I have no problem with the Dinobots, as long as they aren't treated like spoiled toddlers (SEASON 3 G1!!!!!)... PERSONALLY, I'd like the Dinobots to be triple-changers... They would be the "SEAL team 6" of the autobots, with vehicle, dinosaur, and robot modes.

Robot modes for dialog, vehicle modes for travelling on earth, and dino modes when the "S" hits the fan and the rage hits... They "Dino- out" and even the Wreckers back away, nervous.

Grimlock-->T-Rex--> anti-aircraft mobile field command ATV.
Sludge--> apatosaur --> naval vessel (basically think of him as 1/2 the size of Devastator)
Snarl --> triceratops --> armored urban pacification/anti riot tank
Swoop --> quetzalcoatylus --> stealth bomber drone

Well, the more you know! Thanks. :)

My point still remains though. Changes are made by the creative forces in charge. Which, whether we like it or not, Bay is one of said creative forces in charge.

And some people can't seem to understand that WE are the ones who PAY for these movies and as consumers, have the RIGHT to bitch and complain about a terrible end product (in our opinion) if we choose.

Especially on a forum created for the love of the original version.
