Would you like if they reboot the series and used similar bot designs from FOC?

No. I'd like to say I want less flimsy robots but I expect that has more to do with Bay than the aesthetic. Especially since in TF1 the Transformers were quite durable. So all that would be doing is making them almost identical to G1 which I do not want. Between the comics, the games and the Prime cartoon, we've been getting waaay too much G1 lately.

I'd like to see the designs made to resemble Don Figuero's IDW Ongoing designs. I think they'd work quite well in a live action setting, more so than the Prime or Fall of Cybertron designs would. But that's just my opinion.

Dunno where you got that idea from. Are you judging the G1 designs based on just their toys? In which case I'd like to direct you to the many BayFormers figures that have no room inside them in alt mode for a person to sit. Open the door of the Camero Bumblebee toy from the first movie back when this decision you suggest based on toys would've been made. The '70s or '08 version, doesn't matter which Dlx you choose. Plenty of comfy room for Sam and Mikaela to sit inside and escape from Decepticon attacks? Maybe if you move can those robot arm and leg pieces out of the way. Based on your reasoning those BayFormer designs were unsuitable to be used too.

Regardless, Alternators showed that G1 style designs are possible and still give plenty of room for a person to fit inside in alt mode. Just like the HA BayFormers figures did. And a few other exceptions like DotM Dlx Sideswipe.

Don't judge the feasibility of an on-screen version based solely on the limitations of a toy version. The move away from G1-esque designs in the movies had nothing to do with the old toys having nowhere for a person to sit. Especially when some G1 figures did have a space for a driver in alt mode because of their Diaclone origins. Which is funny when you consider those were Jazz, Ratchet, Ironhide and Optimus, with only Bumblebee not having a driver space inside because his original toy came from elsewhere. That's the original Autobot team in the first BayFormers movie having driver compartments in their G1 toys.

It would be kind of cool if they made a separate series of films that was heavily based off Generation One, but with slight modifications to the robot designs, to make them look more realistic, and also more accurate in vehicle mode.

I'd love a movie with the FoC aesthetic. Love it.

But I'm not going to spend one second pretending that will ever happen.

I should probably clarify - actually I wouldn't mind a reboot that used the Hasbro 'Aligned' Bible aesthetic, even if admittedly that's just based on the designs we've seen so far: Optimus, Jazz and Sideswipe. I kinda feel Ongoing style would be still too boxy and TF: P's isn't detailed enough, IMO.

I wouldn't mind WFC/FOC-style designs for flashbacks on Cybertron or for Decepticons who refuse to take Earth-based alt-modes, though.

the hell with bay, let DON FIG design the characters besides their stupid faces, and let bay rot, as long as the robots are not metal shrapnels like the goddamn bayformers i'm fine with it.

Simple looking and streamlined doesn't mean things can't be complex. When Tony Stark puts on the Iron Man armor that's an insane amount of tiny little details to say hey this is complex armor. But once he's armored up it's not a jumble of parts and spikes but something that could have came out the comic books or cartoons.

With the number of moving parts each robot has in the film there isn't any reason for spiky weirdness except an artist and director wanting spiky weirdness.

lets face it, ever since the movies Transformers have to retain some form of complexity
because the movies wrote it in red ink in peoples minds, so g1 styles would not be that big of a success, but Foc retains a good mixture of both g1 style and movie ascetic.
so while yes in a way it would work, it wouldnt be to great as the designs do havely vary
Foc robots are solid but you can see parts and panles when they transform
bayformers are strait up parts, you can see evrything in robot mode, and tell its all though
only vehicle parts being armor, as stretched as it is.

just take Foc Optimus to Wfc optimus, Wfc is more movie as well
and then compare both of them to Bay-Prime, thats a big ass difference and a completely new ascetic to work on in the real world.

So when you really break it down to it
the ascetics dont match, could you make Foc prime in a movie ascetic?
hell yeah, but then you have design and part placement...
its just to big of a jump to technically work, or have a good backstory.

Trying to imagine a G-1 toy loyal Ironhide in life-size CGI...because he was basically an H-shaped abomination with no head or torso. But he had room for a passenger, if they're willing to sit on his face!

No one here suggested that the movies take place on Cybertron.
Just use a similar character design style.
    Which I support fully.

I remember in the TF1 DVD commentary, Bay said something about wanting to make the TF's more complex so they'll look like they belong in the real world. He also wanted them to look alien and more organic, like they naturally evolved as an alien race or something like that--according to him, the simple, blocky G1-esque designs looked too man-made.

I guess the metal shards, pistons and gears do sort of replicate the many tendons and muscle fibers of the human body.

Just recalling all this from memory, though. Might not be entirely accurate, but that's basically what he said.

Bay's look grew on me after 2007 and I kind of like what he does with them now so I wouldn't be interested in them trying to drastically change the look of the robots. Especially since they've already gutted the human cast and are going to try some other characters. They could easily lose the big money audience if they experiment too much.

That said, I'd still be there!
