Ive been on a metroplex high lately, im not sure how a live action version could work.

I think they could take an autobot city angle, but i dont know how well that would work in the bayverse

Yeah, an Autobot City approach would be very tricky to pull off in the Bayverse. Not to mention kind of unrealistic. Metroplex is cool but that amount of work that the CGI workers would have to do to create such a character would be insane!

I think there are some characters that just wouldn't work in the movie verse. Metroplex being one of them. Don't get me wrong, it would be very cool see Metroplex on the big screen but I just don't think he would fit in.

I figure he'd have to exist in flashbacks, or there would have to be a major gamechanger in terms of what we know about the cybertronian situation.

Problem with him would be because he's so collossal, it would be difficult to use him effectively such that he's actually relevant to the story but not a completely one-sided, overwhelming force with no tension or counterforce. And even then, you have to worry about how to relate him to the other characters in terms of the size and power difference.

And then there's the cost of animating him and making it look good.

Best case scenario for me? Maybe a flashback scene where autobots and decepticons are fighting in the ruins of a cybertronian city, and then it turns out that they weren't just "ruins" but a living cybertronian, who is still functional...

please, no more giant transformers. Devastator and to some degree the Driller were giant wastes of computer power that could've been used on something better.

He'd turn into an apartment building with a Brooklyn accent.

I mean, come on now people. Bay called the tank in the first movie "Devastator".

Yeah the huge Formers didn't translate well. Also something that big the slightest movement would be like an earthquake.

And Hasbro called a giant ICBM platform "Soundwave."

And a crocodile "Megatron."

That really wouldn't have been much of a problem, if the name had been consistently used and he didnt end up using devastator later in the sequel.
