Bumblebee's visor: What does it really do?

Now we all know that when Bumblee's visor is up, he's kind of a fragile underdog that gets his ass kicked. When his visor is down however... He turns into a completely different creature (no pun intended), and takes down his foes that is only a bit slower than Prime.

My question is: What does his visor actually do for Bee to make him an unstoppable war machine? Does it bring up a screen of some sort and predicts the enemy's movements and highlight weak spots for Bumblebee to strike, and does it give Bee important combat data in order for him to be successful... Or is it just a motivator of sorts, and a confidence builder that causes Bee to be more sure of himself and his skills?

Naturally, it's for protection.

But I like the thought of it being a motivator. For all intents and purposes, it just looks really freaking cool.

This... And of course it makes him braver knowing his face/eyes are protected.

Maybe it gives him the confidence to do better because no-one can see his ugly face

His visor determines when shits about to get real.

It's like holding the gun normally verses holding it sideways gangster style.

It allows him to see past the explosions and shaky cam and actually tell what's going on. Naturally, it gives him a pretty big advantage.

Maybe the visor gives him a targeting system. But it mainly just protects his face.

If you want to, add me.
