Comics are more like extended universe stuff...I don't think the movies have ever taken what happens in the comics into consideration. I have a better idea: how about no MacGuffin? There are genuine reasons to fight for other than the next magical space object...
It's been a long time since I've seen so many words about absolutely nothing woven together to be some sort of supposed 'story'. That entire blathering from start to finish literally says nothing about anything. A woman picked up a movie prop out of a glass case and explained how things like that are unsafe on movie sets. Wow.
Allspark was destroyed - energy overloaded Megatron and flowed into Sam. Thus the only remaining Allspark energy was stored in the two Allspark fragments. One of these fragments transfered its energy to Sam. The other transfered its energies to Megatron when placed in his chest - essentially rebooting him. The Allspark fragment triggered Sam's visions. When Sam's memories were extracted some of them remained due to contact with the Allspark shard which was later used to revive Jetfire. Upon Jetfire's awakening the remaining shard energy was transfered to Jetfire allowing him the power-up mode with Prime. During the power-up mode Optimus had the Allspark energy inside him - thus making Megatron and Optimus the only two who had remaining Allspark energy. After the events of ROTF Optimus's Allspark energy allowed him to combine with a trailer - essentially giving him a more improved flight mode. The residual Allspark energy was however fading for Megatron - causing him to lose its influence and making his body weaken due to the effects (Similar to trying to quit Alcohol or a drug) Upon Megatron's death the remaining Allspark energy inside Megatron was lost leaving Optimus the only being with residual Allspark energy. Though... the Allspark did activate several other robots in the first movie which may or may not have survived.
I think in the Reign of Starscream or post Movie 1 IDW comics the Autobots slaughtered all the Allspark activated bots.
If a new Allspark were to be created than there is a possibility of bringing dead characters back and even better Cybertron.
All-in-all, I was simply tickled that Transformers was mentioned. Who knows what the future holds for TF 4...hopefully better writers...
I really wish The conflict would just go back to the simple things: Universal Conquest To Punish and Enslave the Weak Theft of all natural resources. Whatever happened to that?
Movie 1: Get the cube to make a new army to conquer the universe Movie 2: Steal resources ie: harvesting the sun Movie 3: Punishing and enslaving humans, whilst forcing them to rebuild Cybertron via Earth's stolen resources.
Nice bit of info and who would have guessed it would come from NPR???? Glad you were listening Ano. You're right, they were discussing the use of a prop...it could simply be for a flashback and that's all.
