Hey ive seen that in all 3 Bay movies Optimus walks even though he can transform into truck why is that

 

Probably because it's faster than just transforming into a truck, driving a few yards, and transforming back.

 

It's harder to stab people when you don't have arms.

 

When we see him walk like a person, it humanizes the character. Also because he can probably pivot and turn quicker in robot mode than in truck-mode, when he's in battle. Also because seeing a giant robot walk around is more of a visual spectacle for the audience than a talking truck.

 

The worst example of this by far is TF1... when Optimus (+ Sam and Mikaela) are literally trying to escape from Sector 7, and Optimus simply puts them on his shoulders and runs through the streets as a giant robot. He even leaves footprints in the asphalt!

I mean, if there is an idea more opposite to the concept behind the Transformers, I don't see how.

 

WTF? If you were a giant, sociopathic robot would you want to transform every time you wanted to move from one location to another?

Because with legs that long, walking over obstacles and sprinting through debris is way easier than transforming and driving around it.

And yet, because he walked he was able to harmlessly evade traffic and hide under the bridge. Something he couldn't have done as a truck.

 

Optimus takes a while to transform where as Sidedswipe, Dino, and Bumble Bee don't so it could be a matter of time consumption or that he doesn't have weapons in Alt. mode

 

Ok, I'll say this again. Right after a thread with a needless, albeit legit, question called "why does megatron growl?" Crainy, who has made a few trollish threads before, creates one called "why does optimus walk?". What, he coincidentally just thought of this now, years after the movies are out? He's trolling gokuz23, and we're feeding him, by actually trying to answer a question with such a ridiculously obvious answer...

But, just to remain on topic, here's my explanation: He walks because he can.

Shroob, wasn't there some Optimus Prime movie toy, japanese only release, with this giant mad max style spike plow on it? Pretty sure you could stab and take faces with that thing in vehicle mode.

Honestly I'd rather have this, which for all it's trollish nature is harmless enough, than most of the shit surrounding the movies in this and otther forums.

 

He's purposely drawing attention in order to distract Sector 7. One Autobot making a show, while the other four slip away, and then all he had to do was hide under a bridge and voila, perfect escape.

Of course, Sam and Mikaela messed it up by falling off, but what can we do?
