So he can hopefully lower Optimus's attack stage by one point. However Optimus has the special ability Hyper Cutter which negates Growl.
So he's threatening to his enemies? Also love all the 'BAY WUNTS TEH DECEPICANS TU BE EVUL MUNSTAHS I HAT BAY SO MUH HE CANT DU GEEWUNNNNN!!!' replies.
I like that Megatron's actual body sounds like it's growling. He and Optimus sound very different. Optimus is all heavy hydraulics and smooth movements, and Megatron sounds like all this fierce machinery even when he's just standing there. Like he's full of chains and pulleys, only the chains are spikey and the pulleys are... also spikey I guess.
Movie Megatron: The Hipster. Covering every single inch of his mechanics in spikes BEFORE Beast Hunters tried to make it cool.
I think I made a sarcastic comment about this topic once before. Megatron is, to put it bluntly, a barbarian. Figuratively speaking, he's not a sophisticated, well-sharpened knife for clean cuts - he's a crude, jagged piece of shrapnel that tears more than it cuts. He's not a skilled fighter - he's a skilled KILLER. Naturally, the growling is just a result of his monstrous attitude.
It's hard to describe but I like it a lot, kinda shows (in a weird way) how he's become more and more corrupted over time due to the length of the war and his injuries. I highly doubt that he was snarly before he lead the Decepticons.
Well, in movie canon, he actually was a lot nicer and I THINK is also supposed to be Prime's brother, not sure about that. I just know they were really good buds before The Fallen decided to start fucking shit up with Megatron's mind.
I've just never been a fan of the idea well G1 had a boat load of problems so it's okay for everything else to have problems. With the budget and massive production teams the big summer movies have it seems like the movies would be the place to exceed what has happened in the past. Doc Ock from the 60's cartoon not so cool, but live action Spider Man 2 Doc Ock that seemed like a way to pick up the game for a huge film.
Exactly! That's what I've ALWAYS thought about movie Optimus and Megatron. Before The Fallen decided to use Megatron as his puppet, I cannot see the good natured, good hearted (sparked) Megatron acting the way he did. His "mental" corruption due to the Fallen, plus his head injury in Egypt, kinda gives movieverse Megs a Galvatron-like feel to him, slowly just losing his mind. On a side note, I don't think they are meant to be like the Twins and Bumblebee/Cliffjumper. More like Brothers-In-Arms, type of deal.
Maybe The Fallen was just a cheap hypnotism act: The Fallen (to Megatron): "And now... you have the body of a robot and the mind of a growler!" Megatron: "Whirr... Grrrrrr..." The Fallen: "And for my next trick: the body of an armchair and the mind of a goose. Hey! Come back! You're still hypnotised as a growly robot! Bugger it - he probably won't hurt anybody..." It's probably all intentional, like how the Decepticons are more monstery and less regular human shaped, and how apparently even the way they transform is designed to be more aggressive than the Autobots' conversions.
Yeah, I know. I'm just really anal about the comic being painted with the cartoon's brush, since there's still a bunch of people who think the comic was some extension of the cartoon without actually reading any issues.
Same thing happens with GI Joe. Just because the characters share the same design between cartoons and comic books because Hasbro wanted to sell toys people think that everything is the same. It seems to shock people that Roadblock didn't rhyme in the comic book.
