Agree!!!! The movies weren't that bad...it was the scripts that were the failure. Just keep Kurtzman & Orci away!

I guess i've never understood that...I mean, i could have happily watched the Hobbit twice over. But i suppose we're all different.

Thing about Whedon is that i don't actually LIKE anything he has done...Firefly, anything Marvel....So i would struggle to judge how he would handle something i love. Though i suppose i might be optimistic, because everyone else thinks highly of him.

Sorry, but I didn't think Amazing Spider-Man was that great.

Joss Whedon directing with James Roberts and John Barber co-writing the script.

Handdrawn cybertron backstory sequences with Guido Guido doing oldschool marvel style still sequences ala mtmte and rid annuals. (probably too jarring for the non fandom, but since we are fantasizing)

I would probably die from the awesome if whedon, Roberts, and barber worked together.

Although I'm one of those people that think Avatar was a very over-rated film, I would love to see what James Cameron could do with the Transformers franchise.

hobbit was very good imo, drawn out action sequences sort of necessary to steer h the book into 3 films.

But the second part, you didn't like the avengers? I think you are the first human I've heard of who didn't like that movie. I'm very confused.

Fair enough. But based on what I watched, the guy clearly has a knack for cohesive story, pacing and was surprisingly good at action sequences. Even though I don't consider him or the other directors I mentioned to be the best directors out there, I nonetheless think their track record of big budget popcorn action movies makes them the best choices for something like live action Transformers. Just my two cents, of course.

I just..i don't know, i don't like Marvel. I find their super heroes kind of....Smug. And not in a good way. DC all the way for me. Watching Avengers was really hard. I don't want to bash it too much because i KNOW im in the minority, but i just didn't enjoy.

personally I've always preferred marvel to dc, batman is great, joker etc, but superman never really gripped me.

Spiderman, on the other hand, I think is a great character. captain America sort of the same feeling for me as with superman.

The avengers movie I think is just genuinely a good action movie, well crafted and intelligent, and doesn't fall back on sexist or racist stereotyping like so many other action movies, bayformers included (the black guy dies, girls are helpless, etc)

I'm pretty sure Movie Directors are only responsible for setting up the shots and interacting with the actors/actresses. Bay is pretty good at doing that. Its the scriptwriters and producers that should be blamed if the story sucks. Frankly, I'm sick of how some Directors get all the blame. Movies aren't a one-man effort...

Del Toro. He understands narrative and aesthetic and can add wonder to the screen, not to mention he has flair when it comes to action based cgi.

On the contrary, writers are usually the ones that get the shaft in Hollywood, while directors are worshipped. And directors have a lot to do with the overall vision of the movies. Their job is not purely technical.

I would like to say James Cameron, Joss Whedon, J.J. Abrams, or Steven Spielberg, but I don't think that will happen. I would like to see Rian Johnson give a Transformers movie a shot because Brick and Looper were great movies. However, I think he said he doesn't want to do many adaptations.
