On a related note, the reason he's called NBE One is twofold.

First, he is the very first one they found. Now, this leads directly into the second, because if he was the only one, they would have just called him "NBE".

But if you read the Sector Seven comics, you'll see that they actually found a bunch more of them over time before the events of the first movie.

A lot of things are clearly explained in the movies, doesn't stop people from complaining.

Agreed, the first movie made no sense whatsoever in terms of Megatrons freezing.

Here's an interesting point... you dont name a robot '1' unless you have more than one, or they would have just called it something else. This could have been hinting at more than one robot under their wing from the start - though it does put Shockwave under problems...

He fell into the Artic and froze. Could happen to anyone :lol

Unless you're wondering how the Artic succeeded where space failed. In that case, you can blame convection and the inefficiency of vacuum-radiation! :D

To be fair, they called him Non-Biological Extraterrestrial. The fact he came from space would imply, given space's vastness and the fact they have a first one to being with, that there are more alien robots out there.

I believe it was mentioned in a prequel comic that, when musing on Megatron, one guy noted that where one robot came from, more would possibly follow.

Is this the issue? Are the movies actually too intelligent for everyone? Is that why all I hear is bitching?

    for you, OP
    a full explanation

I would guess there are kids on these boards. Just gotta humiliate them and help them learn to be tough and resourceful on the internet.

I sincerely doubt this is the case.

Also works in Mel Brooks movies. That is, The History of the World: Part 1.

    I caught and appreciated this.

Correct; he was the second extraterrestrial robot noted to be on Earth, in which Sector Seven realised his, and by extension other NBE's, mimicry ability to take on the form of an Earth vehicle.

Barricade was later described as NBE 3.

Yay! I feel smart when it comes to TF's. :D

I kinda like the name NBE-1 It gives him a more meanicing feel.
