You do realise you only didnt see the monster because of the fact they wanted to keep costs low and scam everyone who watched it. The film was made for $25 million and the only reason it became popular was because of idiotic kids going to watch the film believing the 'first camera' view was cool. The film had essentially no plot and whenever the action started to pick-up the camera would not record it or the camera would just look at the ground -_-

Intellectually I know there are worse films. However GI Joe fans don't get upset when you say how horrible the live action GI Joe movie was so I went with the votes that would cause the most rage.

What's really sad I've actually seen even worse films than the ones on the list but I don't think they were popular enough to make the list. I think it might have been narrowed down to a list of the movies people have at least heard about if not wasted the price of a movie ticket or rental on.

Honestly, i voted for all 3 Transformers films, Battleship, Cloverfield, Eragon, Forrest Gump, The Happening, Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones, Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith.

Those have to be the worst movies i have seen on this list.

As much as I hate the TF films, I think they're merely OK at best, bad at the worst. Not deserving of the title "wost ever". I don't even think ROTF alone does.

I still found it interesting and genuinely enjoyed it, it was trying to do something different and I respect that, but lumping viewers as "idiotic kids" is just ignorant; plenty of people wanted to see how the film would work out. And plot-wise, you weren't meant to know what the monster was and where it came from, it was meant to be in the viewpoint of people who had no idea what the hell was happening and you were meant to feel what it was like to be in their shoes, rather then watch a story unfold. And no, the reason you didn't see the monster until the last scene was because it was a big reveal that had been kept under wraps really well before its release, probably one of the most successful times a movie has kept such an important design so secret. In the end, it was still leagues better then the last American Giant Monster movie, GINO. Also, why the hell would having to work with low costs make it a bad movie? So what if they couldn't afford to have the monster in viewpoint all the time, they worked with what they had and that's anything but a bad thing to do.

Still, love it or hate it, doesn't matter, it still, along with many other movies here, isn't one of the worst ever made, not by a long shot. Cloverfield is no where near the likes of stuff like "The Room" or half of what comes off the Syfy channel.

EDIT: Just saw your votes, you're just voting movies you personally didn't like and not what you legitimately think deserves the title, so maybe I shouldn't bother debating this with you. Voting what you like and dislike does not equate to properly voting the worst film ever. I hate ROTF and I really dislike the Star Wars prequels, but there is no way I'm naive enough to say they deserve to be listed as the worst film/s ever made.

I am voting for movies because i generally think they deserve the title. If it was films i personally didnt like then i would have included 'Super Mario Bros', 'Daddy Day Camp' and the three Highlander movies. If i were going for the 'Worst film ever made' i would choose "Freddy Got Fingered" (A 2001 film that should have never been made)

    Overall given the options i went on the following criteria;

    • If its based off a comic, movie, book, game, etc - Judge according to how the film represents the source material and presents new and exciting content
    • If it is a new film - Judge based on how the film is marketted - Do they market it as a kids film, what genre, etc
    • If it is part of a series - Are the films good on their own OR if there any are story elements taken from previous films, judge based on the idea of it being a sequel

You missed the point again with Cloverfield - the film was ONLY made so that it could scrimp on cash spent and earn a ton from ripping people off watching a movie that avoided special effects for as much of the time as possible. You are also comparing a movie released world wide to something done on a much smaller media outlet, which is designed to waste time.

I would also like to point out 'Alice' a Syfc channel original movie which includes a better plot, acting and overall feel of the movie than Cloverfield.

I don't see how they were ripping anyone off. The movie's trailers didn't imply much more then what we got and people who have seen movies like the Blair Witch Project had a basic idea of what would happen.
My point still stands that it does not deserve to be on the list of worst films ever made, because it is not nearly one of them, even if it is considered a quite bad movie by most.
And I don't think the accusation of that was the only reason it was made is entirely fair; it has a fairly thought out back story, more then most cash-grab films have.

I did say "half of", not "all".

But I can definitely agree that "Freddy got Fingered" should be a candidate; along with "That's my Boy" when it comes to repulsive and overly offensive movies that don't deserve the money they got.

Why-in-the-world some of the good movies ever made are on the list!?! This is some guy's personal list. There are plenty of other movies that suppose to be on the list.

Highlander 2 is one of those movies that belongs in the "I like to think it never happened" pile. Same goes for Terminator 3 and Superman 4.

Oh, please, ROTF is pretty much better than anything they watched during the MST3K days, especially the Coleman trilogy.

Also, A:TLA. That movie is a textbook explanation of how you destroy a successful franchise for the stupidest reasons imaginable.

ROTF definitely belongs on the list, but the other two weren't that bad, and there have been plenty of far worse movies made.

I'm that way with ROTF. Seriously, that pile of shit finally made me understand why Star Wars "fans" hate everything George Lucas has made since Phantom Menace - only it wasn't just a mediocre disappointment like Phantom Menace, it was actively horrible, like... I dunno, the Star Wars Holiday Special. And at least THAT was ENTERTAININGLY bad.

Also, this list is missing the D&D movie - yannow, the hilariously stupid one with Jeremy Irons as the bad guy? He's one of those actors that makes a good film (like Lion King) great and a bad film (like D&D) utterly hilarious!

If we are throwing in movies that didn't make the list I'm still wondering how Crank 2 didn't make the list.

Why not, they're that terrible! I personally had to watch the 86 movie ten times over to purge and cleanse my mind and soul off those laughable caricatures from the movieverse (I've only seen the first one, of course, I could never put myself through torture of the worst kind in viewing the other two!)! They are a blight on G1 and mankind and must be put six feet deep where they belong, them along with their devout fans.

I think anyone that enjoys any of those movies needs to have their heads examined.

God, some of those films make the transformers film look good.
