No way. The movie would not be worth seeing if no Decepticons.

I'm curious as to the original poster's fan status. Long term fan, perhaps just got into it with the movies?

Thing is, if its the latter, i wouldn't blame you for not being fully aware of this, but there are many many Decepticon fans. If i had to guess i'd say at least half, and possibly even more, favour the Decepticons over the Autobots. Its not just a spiteful ''ooo villains are so much cooler than the good guys'' reaction or anything like that, but a genuine deep and abiding love for the rich set of characters that the Decepticons showcase. Whilst your idea is bold, to not have the Decepticons would be just as bad as not having the Autobots. It simply would not work.

I think there is certainly more love for the Decepticons than perhaps the moviemakers realise, and I would certainly like, not necessarily more Decepticons, but better developed Decepticons.
But if done well I could get behind maybe one well-developed Decepticon allied with a large evil human organisation.
    Except:
Indeed. Things can still work without Decepticons, but personally I'd still rather have them in the mix.

Nope. They've been 40kb and 500x300 for as long as I remember.

Curious. My signature was fine, and now it is not. Maybe its the hosting page. Oh well.

Anyway, Rescue bots...I don't really know if that counts. Its hardly the main thrust of the brand dynamic like Prime or the movie verse. It is for very young children so the conflict has to be a bit simpler than a complex race-war. Not that i have anything against well-written shows for younger kids...I am partial to little ponies now and again.

Even something as prominent/large as the movieverse or TFP is not the be-all and end-all of the franchise. Doesn't matter how large or ever-present it is; whether it's a single series like Rescue Bots or a single movie in a quadrilogy, having a lack of Decepticons in something like that won't ruin the franchise. If the fandom managed to survive what was the biggest shock to their system at the time - Beast Wars - and managed to survive the onslaught of Bayformers within its 25+ year history, then "a movie (or series) without Decepticons" is hardly something to start carrying picket signs and shouting on street corners about. :lol  If they do it right, "no Decepticons" can be just as interesting as having Decepticons.
