if it gives us more bot fighting time, it's a good thought. then again, godzilla movies focus a lot on the people too..... so, I don't think it would turn out well.

Meh. Fundamentally different concepts and characters. Could conceivably be done well, but not something I'm all that anxious to see.

This. Plus, since this is movie continuity we're talking here, Optimus already has the jet backpack with giant guns to secure air superiority before freefalling like in the ROTF opening to go all "GIVE ME YOUR FACE" on Godzilla with his arsenal of melee weapons (swords, axes, fists, psuedo-brass spiked knuckles, etc.).

Godzilla is just a giant reptile who is kind of slow compared to how fast Optimus can go. "Ultimate Battle of Ultimate Destiny" notwithstanding.

There's a little film called Pacific Rim coming out next year. Look it up. Not exactly like Transformers, but pretty close.

Well Godzilla beat MechaGodzilla 1, 2, 3 plus Mogara didn't he? I think 2 pretty much killed him so that was close at least.
