As a Megatron and Starscream fan is was a horrible, absolutely terrible movie to me. But Sentinel Prime was so damn awesome that it raised my overall feelings to "decent."

I voted for "Good".
They killed ShockDown and SoundWave too simply- those "monsters" could be performed much deeper, especially ShockWave. It is just quite a stupid way to kill all "your opponents" like just to flush the toilet.

That's after paying to see it twice, and buying the Blu-Ray.

Does it mean that I hate Dark of the Moon? By no means. There are some legitimately good enjoyable moments in the film - the Decepticon camp in Africa, all of Soundwave and Laserbeak's moments, the highway chase and Mexican standoff, Starscream hunting down the Ospreys and chasing Sam and Carly. If I feel like watching Dark of the Moon, those are the scenes I'll watch and enjoy again, but I really can't stand to see the rubbish with Shia in it.

But, first impressions are lasting, and when I walked out of the theater on opening night - I just had a numb "meh" feeling about the whole thing. This was after I, against my better judgement, bought into the hype for the movie and was legitimately excited to see it - I thought the space race twist was interesting, and wanted to see how it would all be incorporated. I admit to reading the novel beforehand, because I couldn't wait. And the novel didn't turn me off, it just whetted my appetite that much more.

I just didn't find it to be a great, good, or decent movie, overall. I know that when Starscream died, I remember thinking that I should be upset about seeing my favorite character get killed but I didn't feel anything. And his death, like the deaths of so many other named characters, just didn't seem to have any meaning. It might have been nice to see Megatron fall into his depression upon being informed of the deaths of his best lieutenants (Starscream, Soundwave, Shockwave) - but like Ironhide's death, he was destroyed and everything went on without a glance. Plus the battle for Chicago just took too damn long - I was honestly numb by the time Megatron decided to come out of his little snit and challenge Sentinel.

I felt the main idea behind the plot was sound, but not executed well at all. I found Sam to be even more annoying than he was in Revenge of the Fallen, if possible. Carly was just there, no better or worse than Megan Fox - though I think a little better since I sometimes thought a broom could be more convincing than Megan.

And to beat the dead horse into a pulp again, I thought they utterly failed with Optimus. But that's the subject of other threads.

So, I say it's a bad movie. If you want to call me a hater, well, I've been called worse.
^ I'm stealing this post as my own. Pretty much covers how I felt. Better than RotF, but then that's probably not hard. If RotF is rock bottom then DotM is probably resting just on top of those bottom rocks. More due to disappointment than dislike.

And I voted 'Bad' as well, in case any hatorz-haters really desperately need to know that information for their personal records.

I voted Good. I liked it a lot, and it's a fun movie. Wish there'd been more time for Shockwave and stuffz, but overall, I liked it.

It was a fairly shitty movie from a critical stand point.

I had a lot of fun with it though...

Good. TFTM falls under the "Great" category. DOTM was almost there, but not quite.

I gave it a solid 7.5/10. Big letdown was Shockwave and the death of Megatron.
