Sorry but in the live action movies the Decepticons are only there to die some really horrible death without putting up much of fight against anything that isn't the token Autobot death or some nameless extra.

Soundwave can be cool other places but in the movies he's only there to die.

Yeah, Bumblebee getting killed, especially by Soundwave, was never going to happen.

Any version of Soundwave who:
- takes lip from a lowly human he is supposed to command, and
- who disregards the deposing of his glorious Lord Megatron,
is not Soundwave in my opinion.

At least in ROTF he took measures to revive his commander.

Well, he never did that, and he never did that. The "taking lip" from Dylan was more akin to watching your dog freak out because it wants to go outside. And he never disregarded Megatron ever. He commanded the force of 'Cons that brought him back to life.

BTW, Marvel G1 Soundwave more than once totally abandoned Megatron, such as when Shockwave took over.

"Yeesss."
"You need to teach them about respect! This was all business but now it's personal, do you understand?"
"They're not the only ones who need to show respect!" or "You're right, it is personal!"
*Soundwave blasts Dylan to vapor, then says his awesome line:
"But he's right; no prisoners... only trophies!"

What do you guys think?

I've had this idea in my head for a while!

Bumblebee765 you have hit the nail on the head for me! I always saw siding with the Decepticons to survive as an act in vain; in the end, you're disposable and they'll kill you off no matter what you've done or how useful you can be.

I wish that was what'd happened, it'd underline how ruthless the Decepticons are.

They generally kill you AFTER you've stopped being useful though, not before.
