michel bays weakest and strongests parts of dotm

His strengths and weaknesses were the same as every other TF film. He was strongest in his action sequences, the placement of several individual shots (such as the apollo astronauts finding the ark), and in making a profitable and palatable film for a mass-audience. His weaknesses were, as before, pacing, characterization, and a reliance on close-up frantic camera angles during action sequences. I'll say he managed to show signs of improvement in using a somewhat more complex character in Sentinel Prime for DOTM, however.

Agreed. Sentinel Prime was one of his more finer creations.

Well, he was probably a creation of the writers and voice actor, but Bay managed to shoot scenes around him in a way that actually accentuated his character, rather than just using him as a prop in an action sequence.

Best -

I could bitch and moan for two paragraphs, but I think this sums it up: Needed more Megatron.

Worst:
Lack of Megatron and Shockwave
Too much time on Driller
Skids and Mudflap's deaths not making the cut
Too much time on squishy humans again

Megatron and Shockwave could've been better. Other than that, I'm quite content.

I hear a lot of people saying that Ironhide's death was one of the weakest points. I have to disagree with this his death packed really high emotional feedback and definitely helped with the story. Megatron really needed a better part in the film. His death was such an insult.

Best:
- The Sentinel Prime character was brillantly developed.
- The plot was very well-done.
- He is much better handling the humour this time around.
- Robot screen-time/human screen-time was well-balanced.
- Solid characterization/character development.
- A much stronger feel of danger and threat [Chicago. No further questions].
- This film is much darker [Laserbeak, Chicago...], I felt that worked on favor of the movieverse.
- The Wreckers need a special mention for not being hated by the critics and the fanbase.

Worst:
- While he got better, he still needs to work on the humour [Hello Jerry, I am looking straight. at. you.].
- He also needs to handle the editing a little better, the plot ended up actually too complex, to the point you need to re-watch it a few times to catch everything.
- Ending was too abrupt, he's been having that problem since ROTF.
- He wasted one of his best characters [WheeljaQ] and created a very generic one [Mirage/Dino].

I'd this is Mr.Bay's most balanced film yet, and I think he really evolved as a director.

Strong points:
Sentinel prime's character.
Optimus prime's disappointment when finding out sentinel betrayed them.
Ironhide's death.
soundwave and laserbeak were done really well.
the Chicago scenes.
Starscream because his character is more like starscream than in all the other films. He even dies as a complaining bitch as a bonus!
Optimus' rage. Second most epic scene in the trilogy so far.
the last fight scene that pretty much starts from when sentinel ditches his building to when he is shot dead.

Weak points:
Megatron was virtually useless.
Shockwave(I liked how his laser cannon wasn't even a laser cannon ). Plus he was also useless.
The sheer fact the Dino, Sideswipe, Que, and Ratchet never had their own fights in chicago or were barely seen fighting after Optimus swoops in and dive bombs the cons.

So all in all, with the majority of everyone's strong point opinions being more than his weak points, I have to say that DOTM is a really great film, unlike some people tend to think every TF movie is garbage.
