What final battle were you hoping to see in the TF films?

a dogfight between some sort of jet autobot/good guy/megatron and starscream would been neato mosquito

Bumblebee vs Barricade, the rematch, with a bit more car mode battle and some explanation as to their past, paint them as more direct enemies than mere faction.

Before DOTM came out I was hoping there would be an epic Moon fight like in the Cybertron finale.

I like the sounds of a fight as it is down pouring, sounds pretty cool.

In Chicago, Optimus vs. every Decepticon existing, while Sam runs around aimlessly. Oh wait....

In dotm i was expecting the final battle to involve starscream vs arialbots and before i found out sentinel was the bad guy, i was hoping him and optimus would literally be back to back fighting off a hoard of decepticons together. I was also hoping for their to be a fight involving optimus, shockwave, sentinel, and megatron that we were OH SO PROMISED in the comic adaptation and in the novel.

...seriously, I'm STILL pissed that we were basically PROMISED this and it never came to be. as Optimus Prime once said in a trailer "you LIED to us. you've made a grave mistake". Bay better not think about telling us lies for tf4, otherwise just damn the movieverse!

Perhaps my memory is a bit foggy, but is that bolded part not essentially what we did get in both the adaptation and film (altered between the two, of course)? We got...

NOVEL:
-Optimus vs. Shockwave
-Optimus vs. Sentinel
-Megatron vs. Sentinel
-Optimus vs. Megatron

FILM:
-Optimus vs. Shockwave
-Optimus vs. Sentinel
-Megatron and Optimus vs. Sentinel

The only difference is the conditions of the "team-up" between Megatron and Optimus. Both Optimus and Megatron fought Sentinel in both versions, but it wasn't so much of a "let's do this together!" as it was a "F**k you, Sentinel!" from Megatron. Plus, we weren't really "promised" anything. They never said we'd get a team-up between Megatron and Optimus in the movie. I don't recall a press statement ever being made to address that Megatron and Optimus would hold hands while they slaughtered Sentinel. The novel went one direction and the film went a slightly different direction. Par for the course on novelizations.
