I have to agree. The movie universe is the dullest universe the Transformers have been in. It's all war and battle with nothing interesting about the Transformers outside of war and battle. No interesting stories about before the war and no hope for a better tomorrow because the heroes are too content with just survival.

Just no feeling that there is big wide universe out there full of adventure, just Earth full of powerful humans and a completely dead Cybertron.

Yes, but that's too forgiving of Bay. He was handed a franchise built for him and his talents amd did a half assed job. Avengers had all the same issues and even more pressure to succeed... And it did. Not to mention it was Joss Whedons first try at something of this scale.

Bay didnt look to the characters or franchise for inspiration... He thought his version was better than the 25 years of history preceding it. It shows.

Thats why alot of us complain.

    This.

Funny how the Avengers and Dark Knight found a way to not kill of major characters, in a reality based world, but Bay didnt have the common sense to realize villian deaths should be relagated to climatic points in the entire franchise.

I say these things because Clash of the Titans was horrible, and yet its sequel still has at this point, made about 300 million worldwide. So a franchise people actually like, with a new director? Yep itd do well. first off youd get the jaded fans back who stopped seeing them because of Bays work, and you most likely get the general populace at about the same amount.

Unless it was dramatically worse than ROTF, and didnt have a big enough budget, its virtually guaranteed success. The subject matter, CGI, and brand recognition will net it sales. A decent plot, and more likeable robots would push it over the top, and as Joss Whedon, Chris Nolan, and Jon Fauvreau have proven, its easy to outdo Bay in that department.

Okay, first of all, what's with all the "What if"? How are people not remembering the news post saying it IS a reboot?

Second of all, if it is done right, yes it would be good.

Third of all, the past 20 Movie threads I've been to have bad grammar, spelling and punctuation.

A reboot indicates major change in story and style, and unless Bay dramatically changes from his experience with Pain and Gain, thats doubtful.

From Armageddon on, all Bays films are the same, flimsy characters, hackneed love story, big action set pjeces. after the Island and TF one, it looked like he was learning... Then ROTF and DOTM erase thay progress. If he brings back the same Bee and Optimus and keeps the same directorial style.. They can call it a reboot, but it wont be. I honestly think this "reboot" talk is to try and get jaded fans to give.it one more shot.

why dont they do like they did with batman, after batman and robin came out in 97, they give batman films a break until 2005, they came back with a fresh take. I say 2016 or 17 make a new rebooted transformers film, with a new director

I'm still demanding to see the article where it's said that TF4 will be a reboot. Because I remember no such thing.

Those of us who think Bay did an awful job want our remedy sooner rather than later. 2016? Fuck that.

Not a reboot, but a reimagining. People are getting the two confused.

A reboot means new universe, brand new storyline, and not a continuation of the previous story. TF4 IS a fourth movie in the franchise, and continues the story, just in a different way from the last movies.

Reboot- We are going to do something different.

Reimagined- Same old shit we just didn't want to pay the returning actors more money.
