If being an actor on TV makes you a horrible actor then someone needs to run tell Tom Hanks he's not a real actor. Tom Hanks showed up on The Love Boat, Bosom Buddies, Taxi, Happy Days, Mazes & Monsters, and Family Ties before making the jump to movies.

I'm guessing next we will disqualify stage actors since you can just get off the bus or plane in Hollywood and instantly get cast into major motion pictures without building up any form of resume.

Let's take it even further and say nobody who's ever taken a HS drama class should be in the movies.

Even better: how about nobody who's even seen a movie/tv show/theatrical production ever?

Change the title of this thread to "No More Terrible Actors Please" and I am more inclined to agree.

Of course, the only truly terrible "actors" in the Transformers films were Megan Fox and Rosie Huntington Whiteley.

Everyone else was fine or had the capability to be better if the writing had allowed it.

So yeah, there's that.

How about this?: No directors that started out directing commercials or music videos.

Usually I'm a defender of dumb threads in the movie forum, but this is just... dumb.

Everyone has to start their career somewhere. It's not where you came from that's important but where you go. Besides which, there are some brilliant actors in television shows that haven't yet made it to movies. Often I'll see someone really good on a show and think I'd like to see them in something bigger.

Hate on certain actors all you want, but don't originate the reason for your hate from them having had a television career before movies.
Autobloke in everything but name.

Where does the OP think most actors start out? The lack of understanding of how things in the world work is startling...

Hell yeah... actually no. Ratchet being like House would be too scary. And Ratchet being like one of those goons in the live remake of 101 Dalmations would be just... wrong.

Question.

Until the Transformers movie came about, who here even knew who Megan Fox even was, let alone that she stared along side Kelly Ripa & Ted McGinley on Hope & Faith?
