Are you finally embracing the opportunity for a NEW movie villain instead of Megatron!?

I'm with you, but eagc7 should take the shots, because if anyone should get alcohol poisoning, it's the guy with the drunken ideas!

I'm not going to lie. I agree with whoever is constantly saying Megatron needs to return. He should.

No he doesn't. He was useless in TF1 (For the most part.), was a bitch in RoTF and a hobo in DotM.

I have yet to see any reasoning for bringing Megatron back that actually makes sense. As jack says, he was pretty much useless in all three films outside of killing Prime the one time, and that didn't even last the movie.

Movie-Megatron was a pretty decent villain, wiped the floor with Optimus in 2007, was a great planner and actually managed to kill him in ROTF, and had a great characterization and one Hell of an awesome scheme in DOTM.

But I think he should remain dead, we saw him going from a rampaging beast [TF2007] to a brutal Warlord [ROTF] and finally to a cunning, but dying tyrant [DOTM].

If they brought him back, it would erase all the interesting things he did in DOTM [the whole "dying tyrant" thing, such as "Cybertron, you are saved...at last."].

    For TF4, I'd recommend:

    - Lord Straxus [as voiced by James Earl Jones]: Megatron was a Extremist trying to bring back [and rule] Cybertron, so let's run away from that concept and use Straxus, who couldn't care less about Cybertron, he just wants to add Earth to his galactic Empire. Also a more soft-spoken yet brutal villain than Megatron. Perfect fit for the movieverse [where we would be able to see his brutality at its full glory].

    OR

    - Overlord [as voiced by Ron Perlmen or Malcolm McDowell, though I'll have to explain why]: Also in the opposite route, this guy literally has no vision, he just wants to bring the slaugthet to the next level. All while talking nicely while breaking your spine in half...

If they really need to bring Megatron back, I'd recommend to have him as an hallucination in the mind of the villain and/or Optimus, guiding the villain through the movie or torturing Optimus for his past failures [such as the loss of his friends and Cybertron itself], it would be excellent because we'd still have Optimus-Megatron banter [seriously, those lines are usually the best in the entire movie].

if it is Nemesis Prime, bay defiantly seems to be so bias towards the primes. Many go on about megatron being resurrected again and again, look at the films 2 and 3

    ROTF main villain
the fallen - one of the original primes

    DOTM
sentinel prime - the origonal autobot leader, who was? a prime

if no4's villain is Nemesis Prime, we will have 3 films where the main villains were a prime. Which starts to become a bit of a clique is well.

I would squee at Ron Perlman Overlord.

It would be an interesting concept for a TF villian to be something like Ledger's Joker in the Dark Knight - no real plan, just go with the flow to cause as much chaos and destruction as possible.

Another thing that might be kind of cool would be a movieverse Swarm such as from the ongoing comic and All Hail Megatron. Maybe an experiment by the Decepticons that gets out of control. It would almost bring a zombie movie vibe to the TF universe.

It just shows how dangerous movie megs was, and even in his weakened state in films 2 and 3 he made the impact. And still we never got the full potential out of movie megatron

Actually, the Joker is an unfortunate example, since he has an absurdly elaborated plan despite his anarchistic ideals [which makes him something of a hypocrite].

But yes, a Chaotic Evil villain would be great.

Well he CLAIMED to have no plan. Would have been interesting to hear Ironhide say something like, "Some 'cons just want to watch the world burn." :p

the joker's plans were very deceiving, he claimed he had no plan, but there was a plan, no villain that crazy and that good, cannot be successful without a plan. He just wanted everyone to think he was that crazy he could not put a plan together

Look at this, the A team, Hannibal was always obsessed that without a plan nothing can succeed. He always went with a plan, his famous quote (there is a plan for everything kid, and I love it when a plan comes together)
