^This. Hell if they were smart they should make Man of Steel the first in the series....

Alogn with a Batman reboot and even try to retcon Green Lantern.

It's a fair point. The biggest issue is to kickstart a JL storyline will take some time. 5 - 7 characters would be needed which would require no less that what Marvel has done (major characters get standalone movies, others support them). By the time JL is ready, Avengers 2 will have come and gone and it will be one HELL OF A JOB to beat A1. At this time, the question is - will another superhero ensemble movie be one two many?

You have seen other movies besides the Michael Bay movies right?
I mean your oppinon is your oppinion but, Avengers is the (far) better film.

I honestly didn't find Avengers to be amazing like everyone else. It was really good, but the first Transformers is a much better movie. Of course, it wouldn't surprise me if the Avengers made more than DOTM

Maybe this is the wrong place to ask, but I haven't seen it yet. Is the 3D for Avengers any good? I heard it was converted.

It's not really fair to compare these two movies...

That being said, the avengers is TONS better than DOTM.

Everyone's been saying Bay has changed the way films are made with Transformers, just look at Battleship. Now Is The Avengers a Game changer like Transformers, the answer, Hell Yeah! The Avengers smokes Transformers. Hopefully Hollywood takes notice of what a good Movie looks like again, and stops Bay and the Bay wannabees from making crap.

I don't know what the crowds are like in other places, but at the local theater they only have 5 screens. They managed to sell out the 3D showings and then canceled showing a kids movie just to open a 2D showing that only had a few seats left at the 6:45 showing I went to. So all most selling out two of their biggest scenes seems like making some mad money on opening weekend.

I heard the drive in was packed to capacity as well for the movie.

I am a big fan of both TF and Marvel series but I have to say that the Avengers beat TF.

Like I said when talking about the avengers, one thing DOTM has over the avengers is? villain's in sentinel and megatron who are a legit threat, not even optimus had it all his way with sentinel. And like I said about the avengers, it suffered from a villain that was naive, stupid, and clearly out of his depth, he was not fit to lace Thor's boots, let alone tango with the HULK. He had no plan, and he was biting off more than he can chew. By the time Thor is on the scene, loki was owned, and that was the first 40 minutes of the film

Loki's a (overly cocky) planner, not a brute or a warrior. A villain who has to use his head to fight back and has the odds against him.

You're kidding right? Sentinel & Megatron weren't real threats at all. Megatron didn't actually attack a single Autobot in DOTM. Sentinel Prime wasn't much better either, he could handle himself in a fight but between the two of them they couldn't organize the Decepticon invasion at all. TF Villains have been the weakest part of all 3 movies.

And no Loki was not owned after 40 minutes, he suckered all the Avengers into tearing themselves apart. Something no TF Villain has managed to date. If they hadn't have gotten the "push" they required Loki would have won.

Loki as a villain made one simple mistake. Not to spoil it, it involves the son of Coul. Everything else was planned. It was his first job to dismantle the avengers from within, to sow doubt, as the true god of mischief would do. I found loki to be a truly great villain. He's a schemer, not a fighter. I also love that he is flawed, he's overly cocky and arrogant.

Sentinel at Washington had optimus pinned to the ground, and if it was not for megatron, sentinel would have killed optimus. Has he ripped optimus's arm off. Sentinel was owning optimus in allot of the film, and loki was out of his depth, he was inferior to Thor, Loki was moaning the HULK bullying him, that says it all for the main villain he just never had a plan B once the plan failed to see the avengers rip each other apart. If he has no plan in how to stop the HULk and Thor, is he on a losing end. I do think these were the 2 key avengers that were vital cogs

Megatron was planning this attack well in advanced, and the fact megatron got the origonal autobot leader on his side, which was a huge deal. Loki for a brief period was turning the avengers against each other, but he never got any of them to join him. once the avengers saw through this attempt, he was out of idea's, and he played no part in the climax of the final battle

Again, because loki is not a fighter... Brute strength does not a good villain make. He did not take a huge part in the final battle, because he used his army, because, again, he knows he is not a fighter. He knew he was no mach for the avengers assembled, that's why he tried to take them out before by sowing doubt. Though it took a pounding from the Hulk and Thor to bring him down...

And if megatron had to kill sentinel, that means his was not a very good plan to begin with. Sentinel wasn't turned, he just grabbed the oportunity to use the decepticons, as he states by telling megs he will not work FOR him.

And there's always the fact that the real villain wasn't even loki, he was himself a pawn in a much greater scheme that ppl familiar with the comics will know.

But as I and Unicronic said, if it wasn't for the "push", loki would have won.

Also, loki had something lacking in every transformer, not only sentinel. He had character^^
