The Autobot execution doesn't make sense to me.

Dylan said that the Autobot's needed to be taught about respect, Soundwave then says, "No prisoners, only trophies." But what did that have to do with anything? I know there has to be an answer to this, but I just can't grasp it. Also, how does executing the Autobot's teach them respect? The way I see it, to gain someone's respect, you don't make them fear you, so what's the whole point in killing them?

Cons won't get respect if they don't actually kill anyone. It's like how Bowser in Mario is a joke now.

When you kill one (oddly enough, the peaceful Que), that shows a sign of respect caused by fear. Sure, they were all going to die, but atleast SW thought they'd go with respect for the Cons.

Honestly it was just a poorly scripted suggestion to kill them all. Which was clearly what Dylan wanted.

The Decepticons aren't out to make an example, they're out to kill everyone who opposes them and their plans. In the end, every Autobot would die if they weren't stopped.

Killing Wheeljack was a way to instill fear in the remaining Autobots, allowing them to suffer while they watched the other Autobots killed one by one.
