We don't know if he survived DOTM. We only saw him go out of frame.

:lol  Too accurate. But on a serious note, I do think that would've been cool. He could still speak in vehicle mode (lighting up the cockpit, etc., a la Cybertron and Prime), you know, alluding to the fact that he is an actual character, not just "Yep, this non-sentient plane with an Autobot logo is definitely a character. Yep. You don't see him transform or anything, but he's with the Autobots."

    Agreed wholeheartedly.

Exactly. Science, b**ches. You don't need to explain it. ;)

And he'd have to talk right too.

Stratosphere (over comms): "Hello, errrrrrrrr... this is your pilot speaking. We'll be, errrrrrrrrr... landing soon. Please ensure your, errrrrr....robot modes are in the upright position and, errrrr... prepare for battle... Hey, sweetheart, get me an energon coffee, will you?"

*sounds of air hostess ass being slapped*

I think Stratosphere is awesome. I would be thrilled if he did appear.

    But there’s a few problems:
    - Military vehicles are primarily Decepticons, that’s more or less been established now (along with the Autobots being mostly cars). It might be a bit of an issue among the audience to have a military vehicle as an Autobot, unless it was a spy. Hound I’m looking at you here...

    - MBay can’t just raid the US Military for what he wants. It doesn’t work that way, he has to get clearance. We’re actually lucky he cast Starscream as an F-22 and Jetfire as a SR-71, not to mention all the other military Decepticons that appeared (Bonecrsuher, Brawl, Devcon) or the use of military gear and the cooperation with NASA... stuff few other directors could acquire.

    - Finally, Stratosphere is composed out of different aircraft: he’s got a Globemaster’s body, a Galaxy’s cockpit and an Antonov’s tail. It’s a minor issue though; I think he qualifies as primarily a Globemaster.

Still holding out hope though for Stratosphere in a future instalment (the VG don't need to be considered as canon).

Oh, BTW the space shuttle gun doesn’t sound too great an idea as a weapon IMO, it would work better as a separate craft for humans or as a drone.

A giant military cargo plane Autobot armed with a goddamn space shuttle gun, and with the personality of HOOOOOOOOOOOOWWLIN Mad Murdoch would be something I would genuinely like to see.

I could go for that too. The Autobots would be like: "It's bad enough we need him to fly us about but do NOT let him join us in battle. I don't want to get shot in the arse by that mad bastard.'"
But I'd call him Stratosfire if he's gonna be a bit mental. And it matches the 'fire' in 'Jetfire' too, like an air Autobot name signature.
