I think some pictures of Stratosphere (comic, toy, video game) would be welcome, just to get an idea of what he'd be like or can do.

Still it'd be cool to see him in the movie. As someone else said, I wonder too what weapons and abilities he has...

Well duh. Why does Bay never think of these things, it's a shame they had to kill him in the DOTM game.

I'd love a reissue of the figure since I never got the ROTF toy.

It was...sort of. But no, I get what you're saying. In the movie, it should've been. I love this character's design and I really wish I had his toy. And I'd love to see what magic ILM would whip up for him. Can you imagine? Him towering 150 feet in the air. Awesome.

Agreed. But it's not so much a matter of caring, moreso that there's no rule that states they have to abide by events that happen in the video games. The movies are the movies, as far as they are concerned. Which, honestly, I don't blame them. Favreau probably doesn't care what sort of events with Shatalov (sp?) in the Iron Man 2 video game. Will Shane Black get s**t if he doesn't have some mention of video game-only events in Iron Man 3?

    :lol

Bay actually wanted to do Stratosphere, but it was too expensive and he scrapped the idea.

It sort of depends on how you compare them. Devastator is a hunched over, hulking brute of a monster 'Con. Stratosphere is a bipedal, digitigrade Autobot who stands up straight(as straight as he can, that is).

[IMG] (fan made, but the scale between Stratosphere's alt and robot modes match)

Devastator is around 100 feet tall, more or less. Stratosphere would easily be 150 feet tall. But Devastator appears to have more "bulk" to him. Stratosphere is like a 7'2" tall, 200 pound, skinny basketball player. Devastator would be a 5'4", 250 pound wrestler.

They could've made him a pacifist or something so he's happy to ferry the Autobots around but not get involved in the actual fighting. Doesn't even have to transform out of plane mode and cost in CGI robot model. It would be somewhat interesting to have such a large powerful character that isn't interested in using his size and power for direct violence.
But then this being a Bay movie with his hard-on for the military, the character would be lambasted by other characters for being weak and a coward because he doesn't want to fight and by the end of the movie he'll have totally lost his personal ideals and be kicking the faces off the enemy with glee. And then Optimus would wear his parts and go fancy-walking about town in his new aeroplane tuxedo since he got a liking for wearing dead aircraft characters after donning Jetfire.

I say no. TF4 should go back to TF1 style and have a small cast of likable, well developed characters, who all look different. I really hope (but knows it won't happen) TF4 will be like TF1 but with more TF screen time. IMO Stratosphere would feel out of place in a small cast.

What do you mean, 'how will that work'? It's a space shuttle that turns into a huge-ass gun, which in all probability unleashes huge amounts of whoop-ass upon the enemy.
