Keep your wigs on. - There’d be oodles of atmosphere and darkness, and de-saturated cinematography - Extensive stop-motion puppetry would be utilized - The Transformers would have Goth steampunk designs (as seen in WILD WILD WEST and CHARLIE & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY) - Most of the film would be shot in an anachronistic locations (you know, to make it look 1950s or 1980s) - Optimus and Megatron would have braces on their teeth and look like Jack Skellington - Ironhide, in a bit of morbid humour, would be a hearse - Arcee would be voiced by Winona Ryder - Sideswipe would have scissorhands and be voiced by Johnny Depp - Jetfire’d be voiced by Christopher Lee - Laserbeak would be a Poe-quoting raven voiced by Danny Elfman - and the main human would be a geek who is unable to express himself to his love interest (a hot Goth chick) till the end of the film. You're welcome to add more, if you like (as long as it's not overly offensive). |

Isn't it hilarious when industrial equipment follows the form follows function design style? Some weird shit that'd make for good Constructicons.Oingo Boingo skeletons FTW!!! Also, I think it could work in a morbidly playful way. With a Thousand Lies (and a Good Disguise) |

I know it's a joke thread, but in all seriousness, some of those ideas are pretty cool. As someone who often visualizes what various other filmmakers might do with Transformers, Burton's work makes for some interesting concepts. | |

- Film set on the 80's/50's, anachonism is likely. - Lots of german expressionism [well duh] - Steampunk-ness everywhere. Cast: - Christopher Lee as Megatron/human general. - Johnny Depp as Optimus Prime. - Helena Bonham Carter as Arcee. - Danny Elfman as Ratchet. Plot: Two different theories: - Cybertronians would be forgotten aliens who suddenly wake up on some american town, and meet up with a goth kid. - There's a human General Ripper [tvtropes] who despises Cybertronians and tries to learn of their existence/destroy them while the goth kid tries to hide them. - While they hide, they bond with the kid, both teach each other lessons while hilarity ensues when they try to hide from humans. - 'Cons are seen following them to Earth, but only do any actual fighting on the last hour of the movie. - 'Cons VS 'Bots in the end, 'Cons lose. - Human General Ripper either dies in a Karmic Death [his own tank explodes or something] or realizes the errors of his ways and accepts the 'Bots. - There's a moment where the 'Bots almost die but are returned to life by the kid's heartweaming or something. Second theory: - Similar to the other, but most of the 'Cons would be Pretenders, fitting with Burton's love for old horror movies [Robots replacing us? Perfect horror concept]. Specific scenes: - At one point, the 'Cons invade Earth in a typical 50's sci fi pastiche [like War of the Worlds], announcing their commands while curbstomping the military, I BET Burton would do that as a homage. - On the Pretender plotline, Megatron-pretender would have a couple of scenes trying to bend in the world and utterly failing [probably killing stuff along the way], just because it's funny. - The battle between 'Bots and 'Cons would be in a War of the Worlds style, ships firing at each other until everyone dies. It would be a fun movie, but probably without any relation to Transformers. Just one big 50's SCI-FI and E.T homage. |
