Stolen from the TFP Inspirationals thread, but I'm sure the poster won't mind:

I could legitimately see him doing something pretty cool with a Hearts of Steel film.

As a fan of Tim Burtons art style and a fan of transformers seeing pictures of this would tickle my fancy..i could see megatron being really skeletal yep still looking powerful and optimus around the same but he would need his faceplate and always have smoke billowing from his smokestacks all the joints would looks like large bare gears with aged looking metal rods covered in armor for the limbs. the bodies for the leaders would be long as well as the limbs. ironhide as a hearse would be ok but i would rather burton would make a hearse and just call him grave digger. spike and sparkplugs names work and if spike was a scrawny kid(not really goth but alot of burtons humans look goth anyway) and he was the son of the towns head machinist. the town would be smallish somewhat away from the world and very industrial looking. spike would meet a damaged bumblebee(bumble bee would be small, and of a similar shape to spike, sorta scrawny due to lack of armor) and bring him to his father to see if he could help fix the young autobot. soundwave turns into a surveillance truck and is always with megatron(forgot to mention that megatrons mouth would look sorta like it just split and look like a jagged jack'o'lantern mouth) i also like the idea of the poe quoting lazerbeak, also a brooding ravage, and frenzy and rumble would just be kind of insane...i could see the cassettes being like some kind of dark comic relief. id go on but i think ill just try and draw a rough pic of what im trying to describe(it might not look alot like burtons stuff but oh well)

Complexity of Bayformers, but the lanky, stylized look that his film characters/concepts tend to have.

True, PotA was a more "normal" film from Tim Burton, but it still had his Burton-touches. Plus, it had Helena Bonham Carter. That alone is enough to qualify it as 47% Burton-ized already.
No, he met her on the set of that film, so it's not possible.

I would love that. I love Burton's work, always look foward to when a film of his comes out.

Spindly, steampunky TF designs. With weird hands. The TFs will probably be stop-motion constructs.

The entire movie would be shot in desaturated colours.

Danny Elfman would do the soundtrack.

Sam would be a Goth outcast. His name would very possibly be changed to Edward.

Mikaela would be more innocent ingenue than skanky ho.

There will be snowfalls.

Depp as Optimus - a younger Optimus, perhaps more in the vein of the TFA incarnation.

Helena Bonham Carter as a motherly but tough Elita-One or Arcee.

Lots of focus on the Autobots being terrifying to the populace at large despite being the heroes of the show.

Decepticons not evil for the sake of being evil - they would be revealed to be hurt, misunderstood creatures, with Megatron's initial rebellion spurred by daddy issues with whomever he and Optimus had for a mentor.

Goth spirals. Goth spirals everywhere.

I'd watch the hell out of this show.
