you became a TF fan through the movies didn't you?

EDIT: that's how Bay will get you. with Victoria's secret models, Shia (however you spell his last name), by remaking a masterpiece, and most of all: the most amount of explosions in a single movie

The sense of the film does not suffer from the dubbing, and the sense is most important.

Each refers to the film in its own way, do not worry, it does not harm my health :)  The Russian soul is wide, every misfortune of those who are dear to us, we are experiencing as their own. And I'm a girl, do not forget about it :)

For me this is really what you call a life-changing gifts from god. It changed my life dramatically and changed it for the better. I have a lot to say about it. The most important thing - it taught me to enjoy life and believe in goodness, no matter what! And this is priceless!

Dude... The part of Carly is essentially still Mikaela in large part, with some slight rewrites and additions. Yet coming from someone who thinks RHW lips have something to do with her acting skill, I'm not surprized.

Back on topic. Its the Razzies folks. They are going for DOTM because ROTF was so critically slammed. It also brings more attention to their show... if they nominated all the true flops and bombs, noone would pay attention, because noone seen them or cared for them. Adam Sandler is one of the better comedians in the last 20 years, so he was a shoo in. DOTM grossed over a billion and wasn't critically lauded AND is directed by Bay... shoo in. Green Lantern was pretty bad, but it was so meh... I don't believe it wasn't nominated tho.

Seriously though I can't believe anyone is surprized by this. It makes sense for them to do so.

I agree. I've enjoyed the Japanese Godzilla movies, the Evil Dead movies, so many of the classic B movies of the 50's, 60's, and 80's but if someone said they were bad movies I'd totally agree.

There is just something rather odd about our culture that people will no longer own up to liking junk. Even in the 80's we knew that shows like the A-Team were junk TV but there wasn't rage and furry because people pointed out hey it's junk TV.

Now if you say something people watched wasn't a great example of the art form people get upset and personally offended because you implied they didn't have perfect taste 24/7 every day of their life. Even worse people seem to entrench even deeper into junk if you imply expanding their pallet like people who only eat at McDonalds because you dared to suggest they try something else.

When someone says the Transformers movies were the best films they have ever seen or they say the Transformers movies were the worst films they have ever seen the first thing I think is this is someone who hasn't seen very many movies. Just like someone proclaiming the McRib as the best food item ever really needs to get out and try other food.

These guys are totally trippin' balls. DOTM was far from a perfect movie, sure, but I don't think it deserves even half of these Razzie awards.

This diminishes my "appreciation" of the razzies. Dotm really wasn't that bad (not that it was exactly good). I thought rotf really did earn it's nomination- that movie really was terrible (even if I do sort of love it). Now it just seems like they're picking on transformers because it's transformers.

Is anyone really shocked by this? DOTM was always going to get plenty of nominations. Even if it was a critically acclaimed film, it would have been the same. TF4 will have loads of nominations, too.

And, to be honest, the Razzies are not serious in the slightest and are always played for laughs.

So you form your opinion based on the Razzies !?! Please don't.
As they say everyone loves to hate Michael Bay, and then they're the first people in line to get a ticket for his new movie. :)

I would agree with all the cateogrories except for Patrick Dempsey as worst supporting actor. (I was really amazed how much of a nasty jerk he could play) and Worst Cast Ensemble.

However you know Jack and Jill will recieve all the wins anyways.

    Kay, lemme go through these...

I echo the sentiments of everyone else here for the Worst Picture thing. At least ten movies released this year were far worse.

Rosie was at least better than Megan.

Dempsey did a decent job, but his character could have been written better. EG: "THERE'S ONLY ONE FUTURE FOR ME!!!!"

The entire cast. Wow. I'm sure they put TONS of thought into that nomination. Couldn't have been biased AT ALL.

With all due respect, I can't really complain about Bay being there.

Shia and Megan had decent chemistry. Not awesome, but decent. And probably better than a certain vampire and a certain whiny Mary-Sue.

The writing for DOTM was noticeably worse than in the Orci-Kurtzmann days. Is it the worst? Cannot say.

High five, brother. Well said. Good to see somebody with some sense in this thread. The A-Team is great. It's really, REALLY dumb, but it's pretty entertaining because of it. (I also really love the Evil Dead, too.) MST3K is one of my favorite shows.

It's OK to have guilty pleasures. There is nothing wrong with liking Plan 9 from Outer Space. But if you try to make an argument that it is a really smart, well made film superior to Citizen Kane and get pissed off when people correct you, people will think you are a crazy person, and they're probably right. People need to seriously chill. Once I posted a topless robot article that poked fun at ROTF, and people started sending the author of the blog death threats. They did that to Roger Ebert, too. Roger Ebert. Good lord. Relax. It's just a movie.

This week, our workplace had a 1-hour Q&A talk session with film critic Michael Phillips. At one point he mentioned how he often got alot of disses for not 'liking' horror films and giving high-marks to stupid foreign productions.

Still, DOTM was passable entertainment, and at least I was more entertained than when I was watching ROTF.

I honestly hope DOTM wins most of these just so I can see the reactions of the people in this thread.

Agreed. Despite me not necessarily agreeing that all of the "nominations" are really warranted this time, the uber fan butt hurt going on here is seriously epic.

I think it's less "the TF movies" than "Michael Bay". I'm pretty sure that if another director had done DotM, even if the result was literally the exact same movie, it likely wouldn't have gotten any Razzie nominations. But, in the same way that the Oscars has directors/producers/actrons/subjects they like and perpetually reward, the Razzies have directors/producers/actrons/subjects they've decided it's cool to perpetually nominate.
