Well, people want a good return on ANYTHING they plunk down their money for. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I knew walking into the theater for DotM that I could very well be disappointed, but...I was interested enough in the storyline of the movie I was willing to give it a shot. For me, it turned out meh, for others, it was a significant emotional event.

The big thing to remember about quality is that it's all subjective: one man's trash is another man's treasure.

If the Razzies were a movie they would sweep every category of their own sorry excuse for an award show.

Also, Jack and Jill winning worst movie is as predictable as that snooze fest the Artist taking home Best Picture tomorrow at the silly Oscar show.

 

I agree completely. Whether you liked DOTM or not (I loved it), it is nowhere near as bad as the other nominations. Season of the Witch was probably the worst movie I've seen all year and Uwe Boll is hands down the worst director in the history of cinema.
DOTM's screenplay wasnt that bad and it had some neat concepts to it like Sentinel Prime's betrayal. Rosie also did a fine job considering that she had never acted prior to DOTM. I thought Dempsey did a fantastic job and he gave one of the better performances in the trilogy.

 

The Dempsey nod is a giant WTF? He isn't a great actor but his performance was completely solid. He does slimy very well in the third film.

 

So the 2nd highest grossing movie of 2011 (and 4th highest of all time) was bad enough to have Razzie Nominations, yea someone take a plane to where ever the Razzie's council is and bash their heads until they have some sense. I mean really it was a over 9000 times better than ROTF (ROTF deserved its nominations and awards if any) but just to bash on the people who made it, thats just stupid.

 

I'm one of those weirdos that like Adam Sandler. I was going to like Jack and Jill, until I realized Sandler played both parts.

That movie deserves all of DoTM's razzies.

Patrick Dempsey as worst supporting actor? WTF?

My thoughts in bold:

Worst Picture - No way in hell. Besides, I've seen much worse.

Worst Supporting Actress (Rosie Huntington-Whitely) - this one I can get behind.

Worst Supporting Actor (Patrick Dempsey) - Maybe, but again, I've seen worse.

Wost Screen Ensemble (The Entire Cast) - Certainly not the entire cast.

Worst Director (Michael Bay) - definitely not.

Worst Screen Couple (Shia Lebeouf & Rosie Huntington-Whitely) - this one should go to Kevin James and the gorilla.

Worst Screenplay - it's an action movie about fighting alien robots. Did they expect Shakespeare?

So yeah, most of these are unwarranted.

I could tell it was that bad just from the 30-second trailer. Whoever let that movie get beyond the conceptual stage needs to have their head examined.
