What do you think, could he work or not, and if he can work, what vehicle could he be?

I think he could work. Have him be an old comrade of Optimus, come to Earth following the loss of Cybertron. Give him an alt-mode similar to his Animated incarnation, but with a robot mode that resembles G1 Magnus.

 

Yes. He's the one who alerts the Autobots of the new threat. And this time, they actually show a new Autobot arriving and being greeting by his faction.

Missile truck altmode. Bot mode a Movie-fied version of City Commander. 'Noble warrior' personality. And Liam Neeson must voice him. No exceptions.

 

I think he would be great. He could be the new second-in-command on the Autobots. I'd be fine with him either turning into the same type of truck as Optimus but having a trailer that becomes somewhat G1-like armor, or him turning into a missile truck like in Animated, as long as he still is red, white, and blue. I don't want Ultra Magnus being tan, green, or other military vehicle colors.

Also, the second truck would be great as Octane, but it might be too similar to DOTM Megatron (not that I'd really have much of a problem with it).

That could also be a G1 onslaught LoL Cool truck.

 

Well seeing as how Ironhide was bitten by the Autobot Lieutenant curse I suppose we have room for a new badass 2nd in command who is one hell of a badass grandpa.

 

Hell, they made Sentinel Prime a traitor, so UM can work in any way shape or form in future movies. They could even go the route of RiD and make him go against Optimus for leadership ranks.
