I heard a rumor from a friend of mine that Steven Spielberg would be next in line to direct Tf4.Not really sure if this rumor is true. But in the event that it is would you be happy to see him direct it and if so what direction would he take it?Honestly I think there would be much more character development than previous films because Spielberg is famous for great story development.

I would the incredibly happy if this were true. I believe he once said that he's even a big Transformers fan, so I think he would do an excellent job on the story and development. I really hope this rumor is true!
My favorite director filming my favorite franchise?? DOUBLE WIN!!!

He probably just heard what Tyrese Gibson said about it, but in any event, I'm game. I want to see this continuity continue, and I can't think of a much better director to do that.

I doubt he actually ever directs a big-time action movie like Transformers since I think that part of his career (directing) is basically done and he's moved onto production work. Even if he was to do a TF movie, I'm just not sure his style would work with them.

Spielberg > Transformers. Therefore he will not be directing TF4. He will remain executive producer and handpick the next director, but he will not take the job himself. A director with his resume and status does not demote himself or join an established franchise. You may as well hope for Scorsese or Coppola to take the job.

I agree this probably stemmed from Tyrese. But it would be awesome. Didnt Shia say he's done with it as well?

I will personally convince Shia to come back as well as Michael Bay to consult, not direct, but maybe provide input on action scenes.

He said he is but you just never know with actors and a director like Bay. I for one tend to believe him so I expect either a continuation with a new director and cast or a complete reboot within the next 5-10 years.
