I don't know if anyone already mentioned this but I just left the theater and noticed two minor details. There WAS a character carry over from DOTM. The NEST guard in DOTM who states "hey....you being a smartass (with a Chicago accent) to Sam in the Toyota is one of the guards when Cade pulls up to the gate in Bee at KSI. Secondly during the highway chase scene the Bots go through a black semi on an overpass. The truck is a repainted OP Evasion mode.

Sorry to necro this thread, but I noticed a mistake while watching DotM today. The report of the Ark crashing is dated July of 1962, and Kennedy's speech about landing a man on the moon was given in September of 1962, however when showing the launch of Apollo 11, the subtitle says "8 years later." It should say 7 years.

So throughout the destroyed city of Chicago, one may see a wrecked bus. In truth, it's the same wrecked bus, just re-staged in shot-after-shot.

I discovered a possible retroactive error...

Sqweeks and Canopy weren't present in Dark of the Moon. If Izabella was 14 during the events of the Last Knight (2017), she would have been about 8 when her parents were killed in the Chicago attack (2011). I assume she met Canopy soon after, because an 8 year-old probably wouldn't be able to survive very long without a protector. But all the Autobots on Earth at the time of DOTM seemed to be accounted for. Unless Canopy was an ex-Decepticon who came from the moon...

Sqweeks could have been "born" after the battle, if we take into account the Bumblebee movie's method of Transformer creation, bringing inanimate objects to life by Energon combined with an electrical surge (from the deleted scene). I like to think he was a younger Transformer, since he looks less-partsy and seems made of only scooter parts (he doesn't even have a proper face yet...kind of like those appliances). He looks similar to '80s Bumblebee, who was also supposed to be younger.

Canopy, could have been easily one of the Transformers that were shown to continually arrive to Earth in TLK. Also did it actually say in the film that they were killed in the Chicago attack? Or was that just speculation. I don't remember if it was directly stated but if IIRC it was not. Also I don't think that deleted scene really counts at all mainly because it's not even canon to the Bayverse seeing as how the films are being reset and the scene was deleted and not included in the final product. Much like the original opening scene so it pretty much isn't canon to Bumblebee either.

Not all good Transformers are Autobots and not all bad Transformers are Decepticons. Canopy could be an unaligned neutral like Lockdown and Daytrader, or that Isabella spent time in a foster home before running away with him in between DOTM and TLK.

I like the ex-Decepticon theory. Considering that he shares the same body type as Long Haul, it’s not a far fetch to say he could’ve been a Constructicon drone gone rogue. Same goes for Trench.

    If only...

I distinctly recall him being tan coloured, or were there two of him?

She says a Decepticon fired a rocket, she wasn't home. It's not specifically stated to be the 2011 attack, but it's assumed it was in Chicago since that's where she showed up.

It seems like the filmmakers' intention was that it was the DOTM battle. I don't think it was explicitly said on-screen, so I guess it depends on if you take into account authorial intent. I guess the same is true for the Bumblebee thing too. Considering that scene was going to be in a Bayverse prequel, I wouldn't be surprised if it was supposed to be an explanation for how younger TFs came to exist.

Transformers: The Last Knight - Izabella Survived the Battle of Chicago

    Yeah, those are good explanations.

Let's keep the focus on DOTM, speculative talk on TLK doesn't belong here. :)

I know this thread is insanely old, but I’m genuinely surprised no one here pointed out that Shockwave’s eye seems to turn yellow at different points in the film. I could be totally wrong, but I figured it was worth pointing out. This is something I’ve been curious about for literally the last 8 years.

I’m not sure if it’s just the angle of the camera that causes his eye to look yellow or if it’s intentional.

Yeah I never caught onto that. Maybe it's a nod to the yellow eye from the G1 cartoon and then the red eye for "Shackwave"? :D

Or not. It could just be a mistake?

If it's not a harsh frame jump in color, there's no real way to know - unless the studio makes a statement. But it's Hidden Mickey levels of subversive - so I hope it is.

Not an error, actually. It has been pointed out numerous times, that there are stairs, in front of the chair, obscuring part of Megs' wheel.
