It is assumed the xanthium was kept from the public eye, which includes Sam.
We're all Wreckers. Only few are Rulers.

Oh i didnt mean that. i meant that while he didnt know exactly how they went, he DID know that they went somehow, meaning they had something that was able to transport them.

Yeah, there are several instances of questionable compositing in this (and the other 2) movie.

^Pretty much every big VFX movie (Pirates, LOTR, King Kong, Avatar, Jurassic Park) has moments of questionable work, ranging from minor inconstancies to major "turkey shots". It's par for the course.

And what point is that? That Sam was unaware of a method that the Autobots could use to leave the Earth? As Wrecker217 said, it's pretty much just the Autobots, NASA and NEST that have knowledge of the Xanthium. Sam wouldn't. 99% of the population wouldn't. For all Sam knows, the Autobots are stuck here without a way to get out.

Long time, but I think I got some relevant stuff (though not much):

Dylan’s last name is Gould. This is a possible reference to STARGATE, where the primary antagonists are named the Go’auld and utilizes a travelling mechanism as its primary tech.

Voskhod’s automobile is a Mercedes Benz. You could call this a foreshadowing of the Mercede-Benz SLS-AMG Carly gets, as being a Decepticon.

When Dylan is slammed into the pillar, there is fire and smoke seen coming from his body, but when his body falls from the rubble he is relatively unscathed, with no burns or smoke or even charred clothing.

That's.... a bit of a stretch.

It would be a stretch to call that a stretch.

Ah, finally we have an image of the filming helicopter! Good catch.

As for the bystandards looking, of course they're civilians looking at the filming of a big-budget movie in their hometown, but it's also not out of the question to have a plausible explanation for their presence there; not all of Chicago civilians managed to escape when the 'Cons took over. Office buildings still have employees trapped in them, no reason to assume that some apartment-dwellers couldn't escape as well. They're merely (risking their lives) to look at the alien war being fought right outside their windows.

But still, that's kind of funny. "Hey mom, look! That's me! Did you see that? That was me! In that window. In that one shot. It's already passed, so don't bother."
