Transformers 3D Update - Movies News at IGN According to di Bonaventura, director Michael Bay's use of 3D technology this time around will take the franchise to the next level. "It captures scenes in a way they haven't been captured before and here's a different sensibility to the movie as a result" he explained. "Michael is so awesome at shooting, the question originally was how the cameras would work because they're cumbersome. Look how long it took Jim Cameron to make one movie. All those things are quite daunting, but Michael figured out how to use the cameras in a day. "We had a day early in pre-production set aside just so he could test the cameras and see what they were like. If you look at Avatar, the camera isn't sweeping around in the way Michael uses the camera, so we had to make sure it could do what Michael does. I think people are going to be pretty wowed by the result." Aside from the 3D however, what will be different this time around? "What you can expect is more comedy than we've ever had before" di Bonaventura revealed. "You can expect bigger action sequences than we've ever had before and you can expect a different character through-line for our lead because he's a little bit older and Rosie's a little bit older - there's a maturity there that didn't exist before. "He's moved on to a new stage in his life with a job, and that's an interesting rite of passage, so I think it has the emotional elements that people are expecting of the movie, but they've moved forward in time, if you would." i'll go for shockwave to have a power penis or prime to blush at catching sam and carly doing the sexy stuff ftw!! i want to be proved wrong but i cant wait for a reboot now.
I agree. Bay said less stupid humor so I hope he was telling the truth. Of course what counts as "stupid humor" is a matter of opinion too.
??? I remember Bay said " The third Transformers movie will, according to director Michael Bay, get rid of "the dorky comedy," take things more seriously..... " Bay: Transformers 3 Will Be 3D, Less Dorky, And A Big Finale - Techland - TIME.com I just hope that comedy in T3 is not "dorky" :/
Hum so does this mean another one of those things like the battle of Egypt that just wouldn't end and Bay's brand of humor like the guy with the bad teeth? Perhaps it's just the pessimist in me but it sounds way too much like Transformers more of the same cranked up to even new unbearable levels. Oh and good job there di Bonaventura of getting in Sam but nothing about the robots. Maybe they will prove me wrong but it's not sounding like this one is not going to turn things around if you weren't happy with the last film.
Meh, I'd be disappointed if the movie was totally serious. Well placed comedy is fine. Just no more giant robot scrotums or humping dogs and I'm kosher.
Greeaaat..... You got that right. Man, this is looking more and more like a rental for me..I know these movies have brought a lot of money to the franchise and we benefit with more funding going into the quality of toys...but any other publicity it's created for the franchise hasnt really been positive. I mean in that, the live action Transformers movies could have been the opportunity to finally propel the franchise into a legitimate form of sci -fi, but these money-grubbing f*cks who have little to nothing invested in the franchise emotionally have turned it into this enormous piece of trash that will stand as yet another reminder of the decline of film-making (yes I know its based off of toys and that its difficult to tangent away from that, but you can't deny a greater effort could have been made into making these films worthwhile as far as story and character development).
This could work ... or counterproductive. TF1 humour was OK ; for example, when Megatron says "disgusting" and then pokes / throws that human with his pinky finger. That was pretty funny stuff imo. More trash jokes however like in ROTF, will only ruin the TF movie franchise even more.
For a couple of years I thought the humour in TF1 was a bit out-of-place, but after ROTF it felt downright conservative.
