Sorry if this should go elsewhere, but it didn't really seem like a news news item and not just add on to other threads talking about specific aspects of filming schedule...

Just caught some scenes being staged and filmed in downtown Chicago and saw a couple things of note.
-Twins are definitely back and in these scenes... same black smartcars with orange/green trim.
-Ironhide with a NEST alliance liscence plate (can't remember if that was there in ROTF)

Saw a chase scene being filmed with several Autobots racing behind what looked like demolition derby cars... closed top with plastic net windows over the door windows, scrapped together bodies, etc. Mostly black with some color paint. My first thought was they were filming crew vehicles, and they might have been, but they also had sponsor decals (Gillette I saw for sure) and big racing numbers (again, 13 I saw for sure) and figured they wouldn't put those on cars that weren't being filmed. My first thought when I saw them: Stunticons, but that's total conjecture.

Cars in the Autobot lineup: Bumblebee, the red Ferrari, Ratchet, Sideswipe with the roof down, Optimus prime and a purplish-blue sports car with black tires that I didn't recognize. My first thought was that it looked exactly like Shockwave's Alternators Alt-mode... I wonder if part of the plot is that he infiltrates the Autobots...

Optimus Prime definitely, definitely, definitely has a full sized trailer. Again I can't remember if he's been seen in the movies with one before, but I got a clear shot and some photos of it. If thats new, LMK and I'll post pictures... if not, then, oops, my bad.

Am I crazy? Did OP not have a trailer in any movie scenes before?

I didn't get a photo of the derby cars, my girlfriend got a quick video that she's sending me now and I'll post in a sec. Definitely got a photo of the trailer- it's enclosed with a G1-ish silver swipe down the side (like the original red)

 

He has not had a trailer at all.

Sweet! I thought when I saw it that he didn't have a trailer ever before, but couldn't remember if it popped up in any of those helicopter shots of them driving down some road...

Interesting that it's enclosed with all that talk about the headache rack usually going with a flatbed...

I love, LOVE the G1-swoosh down the side. Very movie aesthetic of homaging G1 while keeping it modern. Maybe the red would have been too much, but that swipe is unmistakeably G1 inspired

hOW IS THE PICTURE TAKER GETTING THAT CLOSE?

 

I took those photos myself, and believe it or not, I just sort of walked through. My GF lives around the block, and I walked around the area this morning... They were telling people to go around, but I said I was just cutting through to go to class (her school is right there). I didn't have my camera out so I probably looked like anybody else trying to get into a building. The photos are crappy cause they're just cell phone pics I shot really quickly...

 

Stunticons were the first thing that came to my mind as well. Great shot of that trailer.

That chase scene sounds cool! Sounds like almost all of the Autobots, that we know are in the movie, are going to be in it.
