If Bay didn't do them, which director would you have wanted to take on the TF movies?

One of the names initially attached to Transformers was Robert Zmeckis. I wouldn't have minded that at all.

I reckon that Back-to-the-Future-kinda-feel, would be right in keeping with an eighties franchise like Transformers. I dunno if he can still make 'em like that, he's been doing Mo-Cap movies the past while. I haven't seen Polar Express, but Beowulf was pretty awesome.

^ I agree. Plus, that could have helped for Christopher Lloyd as Wheeljack.

Come on folks, James Cameron would turn the army guys like the Marines from Aliens.
Mikaela would be more like Sarah Conner or Ellen Ripley and better casted as well. Trust me, they're a lot of other actresses out there that can act as well as look good.
Sam would be probably what he is right now.
Cameron would treat the Autobots like the T-800 and the Deceptcons like the T-1000. I would've had less immature humor and have more cultural humor (Hasta la vista?) like how Beast Wars and Animated did.

Either him or Ridley Scott or George Lucas or someone else.

I wished Steven Spielberg directed and produced this. It would be ten times better than what is now with Bay.
LOST Season 6: Destiny is Found 2/2/2010.

Cameron also created the aparently preachy movie "Avatar" so, I would like him to stay away from the Transformers. IŽd take Bay any day over him. And you really want a guy who makes mechanized humans loose to stone age natives?

I too am very satisfied with Bay.

I think in the end Transformers media is just a commercial for the toys and Bay is the flashiest commercial director out there.

Bay has many other pluses too, first being that he brings movies in on time and under budget. Secondly he has a proven track record of scoring big money on the films he makes. From a business standpoint (movies are just that too, business) what more would a production firm ask for?

His style is very fitting for the subject and his over-the-top sensationalism is just the icing on the robot cake. Really I can't think of a better fit for the current Transformers movie projects than the all american Michael Bay.

I am not really a fan of his other movies, and don't care for the jiggle-cam, but he has manged to find a property that it works incredibly well in.

So really, Bay is THE guy to be doing these 150 minute toy ads. He sells the living sh!t out them too.

Go Bay!
Your bargaining posture is highly dubious, Jerk!

anyone but bay would've been better and done better. i don't think you can do worse than what bay did but i'm sure he'll prove me wrong when part 3 comes out. abrams, jackson, speilberg, etc. are all good choices but i would've just like someone who was actually a fan of tf's and knew what the hell they actually were. someone who would've respected the origins and the fan base. the perfect example would be jon favreau with iron man.
