If the movie had stayed faithful to Galactus's design from the comics, it would be one of the most retarded cinematic spectacles to ever behold, hands down. | I agree. That is why a robot the size of a planet would not only look stupid on screen, but would make everything else look so small they couldn't even share the same screen. |

Now in my original post I theorized that Unicron would be the size of our moon. In the diagram, you can already see how hard it is to notice something next to something else that is only 400 times it's size. Now imagine the moon vs. Optimus Prime. That's 400,000 times larger.
Unicron won't work. |

He could be a planet , perhaps a moon, that's coming to devour Earth for energy, ala the harvester. Then, NEST and most of the Autobots can fight the Decepticons/Unicron's army on the ground and Prime and others could fight Galvatron (assuming he shows up) and find a way to take down Unicron on the inside. Check out my fanfic, Transformers III: ENDGAME! I'm so hungry I could eat an Epps! |

If the movie had stayed faithful to Galactus's design from the comics, it would be one of the most retarded cinematic spectacles to ever behold, hands down | Personally I quite liked how Galactus was portrayed in FF2. There were still a couple of shots that vaguely looked like his helmet design of old. The commentary for the film said they threw those in so you could almost make out his normal design in the clouds which could suggest he's in there and the cloud is just his 'ship', but it was purposely made indistinct because a Silver Surfer movie was being talked about and they didn't want to tie the hands of whoever made that movie by having Galactus be this definite thing in FF2. So all in all sounds fair to me.
Or maybe Galactus shown there is sorta like Gort in the Day the Earth Stood Still remake and the cloud particles could come together and make the Galactus body everybody knows from the comics.
I think though that if Unicron did show up as a big 'thing' the living cloud idea has been done enough now already. Planet-sized robot not so much, but if not that then something totally different.
I sort of imagine people wandering around on Unicron like the characters did on V'Ger in the Star Trek movie. Autobloke in everything but name. |

But yes, a big evil ailen looking monster would probably be easier for a lot of people to take in then a big plnet sized humanoid dude with horns. It's all about the cheese factor.
You have to come to grips with the fact that Transformers, no mater what, will always be a cheesy concept in some form or another. We're talking about a series in where alien robots come to earth and hide as our stuff.
A big evil planet eating monster isn't really that out there for the world these characters inhabit. Quote:

lol You still present this argument as if Optimus would challenge old Uni to a match of fistycuffs. That's just not how a character like Unicron works.
Unicron is the big evil force of doom that's coming to get everyone, you can't/don't fight that on a one on one level. He's not ment to be that kind of villain. He's the thing that everyone comes together to stop before it destroys them and everything they know.
It's really not that hard of a concept to wrap one's brain around. Hey there Cthulhu. |
