I think both the song and the video (especially) are hilarious as a "take that" at Linkin Park and whoever is choosing songs for the soundtrack. I look at it as more of a parody of LP's style than an attempt at redoing and updating The Touch; this is especially obvious in the video (weird effects, rapping "Shia", mugging guitarist). It's a joke and not intended to be taken that seriously.

Taken as a song, and ignoring the parody aspect, I think it's mediocre. I'd rank it as my least favorite version of The Touch (behind the '07 redo and the original version, respectively), and it's not one that I can listen to that many times in a row.

I never liked 'The Touch', nor much of the music from the original animated movie.

I found it golden hilarity when Marky Mark sang it as a hasbeen porn star in Boogie Nights.

And this new one? Are you kidding me? I'll admit the chorus sounds a bit better, but then he had to mix it in with that lame ass fourth grade level rapping (who knew Rick Hoffman fancied himself a rapper). And there's the undeniable fact its a complete ripoff of the Linkin Park tune, which tosses it down into a hole of pathetic so low I still just shake my head at it.

Then there's the video for it. Not the re-edited one with Transformers stuff in it, the original........AHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

 

You know, I actually like it now. It took me a while, just like with New Divide. I was so used to What I've Done, that it was hard to compare, but now I like them both equally. The remix of The Touch has actually gotten stuck in my head a few times since. Take out the rapping, and it'd be perfect. The video is terrible, but I love how everyone is trying to be serious, except for the guitarist who just can't keep a straight face.

 

just curious. I never heard the 07 version, but is it as good as the 86 version (no, I'm not gonna listen to it myself since I puked after listening to the 2009 version, so I just wanna be safe)

 

I'm not very fond of it......... at all.

 

I refuse to listen to the new song.
