I've given up on saying can't with the films. If Bay decided he wanted the military to take down Unicron by themselves then he'd do it because he's Bay and he really doesn't care what anyone else wants as long as he gets his way.

Ah, I was unaware. Still, that particular concern seems to ignore the fact it was one of the last two shreds of The Allspark that allowed him to come back, along with the help of 'the doctor' and spare parts from a betrayed Constructicon clone.

Now that I agree with 100%. Were Megs to return, well...

What effect is that would the Decepticons be losing? I mean the Decepticons are pretty much easily beaten by the US forces. The cons can't possibly lose effect more than that.

I've never even heard of this. I guess one persons 'old' is another persons 'new'

I think a union between the two could temporarily work and then have a climactic battle between Megs and OP, as Megs tries to back-stab him.
OP wins and runs off with Mikaela.

What I really hope they don't have again is everyone's after Sam because he's got the location to some ancient Cybertronian power/artifact in his brain or on some glasses or on a turd he dropped one time after a particularly heavy meal.

Much like the likelihood that in Spiderman 4, Peter will have some crisis of persona & MJ will be kidnapped by two or three villains for bait, I'd say we can expect more of the same in that area. The human focus in this continuity is unavoidable.

This is true. And its one thing that I still don't care for. I know people can point to things in the past TF media where humans did their fair share of damage to Transformers be it with weapons or superpowers, but I still don't see justification for including such things just because they were there before, especially since I had slapped in my face a constant tagline from certain folks overly defending the films of "It's new & better, they aren't going to include something like 'that' just because it was in Transformers two decades ago. Grow up" in regards to any number of serious considerations. This was, natch, before the first film hit with its bathroom humor, magical mass-shifting cube, cheating Frenzy head, etc.

But my point is, these Transformers of the Bayverse are shown to have some of the most advanced working Cybertronian systems in Transformers fiction to date when it comes to areas like reconfiguring themselves to a new mode. They can apparently mimic absolutely anything for disguise so long as mass is taken into consideration (its assumed, on the mass bit that is) be it rubber, glass, hair & flesh even. They match details down to observable inner workings such as the engine when you pop the hood. They can scan another vehicle in about a second, then somehow map out their entire form to match it in every detail but still take into consideration their whole robot form and how its constructed, not to mention the internal systems there in, including reconfigurable weaponry, ALL of this in the blink of an eye, and I do mean the blink of an eye.

This sort of advanced technology, things we couldn't begin to imagine what it would take to acheive ourselves, and we can do damage without being pwned at every turn? Blackout's one time total decimation of a military installation is trumped by Lennox' magical ability to slide an unreasonable amount of time on his back I guess?

Change the title of this thread from "2 Things that they CANT do in TF3" to "2 Things that they SHOULDNT do in TF3". Likely, if Michael Bay saw it, he'd go off and say "It's my movie! I do whatever the fk I want in MY MOVIE, haters!"

Which would lead to a movie about the Decepticons becoming a new corp of special force Autobots dedicated to defeating The New Fallens. All while robot dogs hump in the background.
