A better idea for the Prime/Demolisher scene would be Ironhide executing Demolisher. Maybe he tries to kill Prime and Ironhide intervervines. Ironhide is more trigger happy than Prime.

You know what would be fun; if optimus and megatron had a big argument over demolisher in the third movie.

Carg, I'd say we need to see an argument between optimus and megatron on the big screen. After all, more than once in TF 2 the decepticons make mention of "perpetuation of the species" ... which I think is a valid concern.

I would like to see the autobots and decepticons argue this point further.

After all, so far the autobots have readily destroyed the all spark, and the energon-harvesting machine... both in the name of protecting the humans... BUT, what about their own species ?

 

Nothing is stopping the Decepticons to go to other planets to harvest Energon. And seeing how many protoforms and whatnot rained down in the end of RoTF? Extinction is far from a problem. "Perpetuation of the species" is more of an excuse than an actual reason. Meggy and whatnot are just vengeful.

Eh, Prime killing Demolisher like he did is fine with me. Considering what the Decepticons did in Transformers, not to mention the backstory of Cybertron in the movie series, I'm pretty sure the Autobots have a pretty good reason to hunt down and execute those on Earth. Also, Demolisher's destruction in the movie, profile on his toy container, etc. amplify the idea that letting him live would be a bad idea. Prime gave him a chance to have "last words" shows Prime giving him a chance to maybe have a sense of regret, but overall that didn't come to pass either. Also, Demolisher's condition would've meant a long, suffering death if left there... or a chance to repair himself. "Decepticon" after all. Hidden weaponry not seen in the movie is also a possibility.

As for Sideways dying without fighting back... his profile on his toy says he's a courier. Generally when in a war situation, the messenger does get shot  

 

demolisher just wanted to protect Sideways.

I would love to see how sideswipe would get killed in a similar way he did it to sideways, then the decepticon says: "Damn you are bad"
