im a poet and I didn't know it.

I have seen spoliers for Rotf since they started coming. when I got to the theatres I was expecting everything (execept reedman and the fallen being megatrons master, i must have missed those somehow.) I ended up knowing more than I wanted to. This time I am remaining spolier-free, anyone else?

I tried avoiding any type of spoiler for ROTF and i was about 80% successful. Which was enough for me to enjoy. It was pretty funny because as soon as any type of trailer came on tv i would force myself to change the channel. I also forced myself to stay off any post or site that would have spoilers. I plan to do the same for part 3.
And it doesn't help when you have joker friends who send you msgs with spoilers in them! lolzzz!!

as long as Bay is at the helm, it's not even worth staying spoiler free....at least to the degree that I go to for other movies I want to see. I read anything and everything.

I think I suceeded for the most part, on going to the film unspoiled (Trying to remain spoiler free, however, when updating a website with ROTF News, or peeking at Bootleg 'Behind the scenes' vids, is a bit hard though :p .
), I do admit I fell to temptation and read a TF-Wiki Summary of the last bit of the film ("Sam Dying and Sam Returns to Collage and Professor Colan calls him Einstein") when I had to wait a whole week to see it because of those "friends". Other than that, I was pretty surprised, amused, and shocked by the entire film.

I didn't see Prime's death coming in any shape or form, so my mouth was hanging open when it happened. The same for Ravage. The only character I really knew that was certified to die, prior to my TF-Wiki visit, was "Arcee".

Overall, I'm going to try and stay SPOILER-FREE come TF3. I dunno if I can though.

I did for the first two films, so I'm probably going to for 3 as well.

No. Honestly, spoilers have never ruined any movie I've ever seen. It's a much different, and better, experience once in the theater. Might stay out of the Movie forum more, but not because of spoilers, because of the many pointless arguments over opinions.

I stayed spoiler free for both movies, and any movies I intend on seeing (GI Joe, Watchmen).

I end up enjoying the movie itself more overall. This may sound completely ******ed, but on top of changing the channel when the commercial comes on, I would close my eyes in the theatre during the previews (I wouldn't plug my ears, cuz that's just silly!). Oh yeah, and obviously avoid the Movie boards here at all costs

Edit: I use to be one of those people who would get as much info about a movie as posssible (watch/read everything and anything, download every trailer), but after watcing the Italian Job (2003) I was like "WTF did I just pay money for?" The trailer gave away absolutely EVERYTHING! Every plot twist, action scene, from start to finish, everything. Since then, I do my best to go in 100% fresh

I over did it on the Spoilers for ROTF.
    Big mistake.
For Number 3,I will try and only watch the actual movie and all the trailers and exclusive footage.

This is me, cause I didnt' watch or read anything, but I did buy the toys before seeing the movie.

:D  this is me. when there's a movie I definetly will be paying to see, then I won't watch trailers or read anything on them. when in the theater if a preview comes on, I will close my eyes and look down and cover my ears. I did that in when the TF2 trailer came on before Star Trek. after I removed my hands and opened my eyes, my wife was looking at me and yelled you Freak, trying to embarrass me. didnt' work I did it for the next movie too. I don't like seeing all the good scenes of a movie I plan on paying to see.

Glad you asked. This time, I am going to do what Smasher did and stay away from all spoilers for 3. It will not be easy, but I think I can do it.

    You can do it, man!

I think I enjoyed Star Trek and Revenge of the Fallen much more because I stayed away from spoilers.

It wasn't easy, but it was worth it.
I didn't read the prequel comics -nothing.
The only footage I really saw was the Super Bowl commercial and then the trailer that played with Star Trek.

It's probably easier to use Star Trek as a frame of reference here because there is only one thread to look at.
But look at the posts in that thread from as far back as November .
People are agonizing over the smallest details; the black shirt, the design of the Enterprise.
I did that type of research and critique on the first Transformers movie -it's not worth it.

Doubtful I'll go spoiler free when they start releasing news concerning the production of TF3. Besides, learning about some of the things that are going to or supposedly going to happen in the TF films before catching them in theaters makes me get all the more excited to see them.

I used to feel that way, too.
And I'm not saying that my way is "right" or anything like that.
But for the first movie I had seen all the designs and basically knew all the scenes if not their exact sequence.
When I first saw the previews I was like "Cool, Transformers previews."

For the second I knew almost nothing and when I saw the preview during Star Trek I pretty much could not breathe.
When Prime said, "Fate seldom calls upon us at a moment of our choosing," I got chills.
I got chills remembering the experience as I type this.
I don't care how nerdy, geeky, or whatever that may sound it's the truth.

I'd kind of like to go in not knowing which characters are going to be in #3 and be totally surprised but that seems like it would be a lost cause.

I'm going to try this time because when I saw Revenge I knew who was going to die and what was going to happen since I read the book. I will still watch the trailers maybe not the TV spots because they spoiled Sideswipe's only action scene. I will read about the characters because if I didn't I wouldn't know who most of the robots where.

for the most part, yes. I imagine that if I would have not known that Devastator was in ROTF, i would have been shocked and amazed.
