He has ABSOLUTELY NO FUCKING RIGHT to tell me I'm wrong for liking a movie. ABSOLUTELY NO FUCKING RIGHT AT ALL!

HE is the one who has no idea what he's talking about and wasn't watching the movie for what it really was. People were complaining that the plot was hard to follow. Guess what, I'm 13. Fucking 13 and the plot didn't confuse me at all. Anyone who couldn't follow the plot is a downie. If a 13 year old can follow the plot, then anyone above that age can.

Roger Ebert should go die or something.

*end rant*

EDIT: Was it Roger Ebert who told people who liked the movie were wrong? If it wasn't, replace Roger Ebert with...whoever said that.
You are 13 so maybe you weren't around for the fan war that erupted over the first movie. Back then we had crazy people around who hated the film so badly that wished harm or death on Micheal Bay just because they didn't like Micheal Bay's interpretation of Transformers. Wishing death or harm on someone because you disagree with them wasn't cool back then and people like that needed to be encouraged to leave the fandom because there is no place for wishing harm upon others.

So we managed somehow to get rid of the people who would wish death on a director or who would post crap like "raping my childhood".

Now we seem to have exchanged one brand of crazy for another brand of crazy. The same thing the crazy foam at the mouth people were saying about Micheal Bay back then is now being said of movie critics. It's still not cool to wish harm or death upon someone just because it's movie critics this time and not the director.

I'm not saying that you can't disagree strongly with the movie critics but you need to do it a sane rational way. If you act crazy about it all you are going to do is reinforce the silly notion that there is something wrong with people who liked the film. It's possible to be passionate about your disagreement without having to go over the deep end.

Why not read the article for yourself rather than going by the rabble rousing of others? People are taking the "evolved" comment, completely twisting it out of context and then ignoring stuff like this:

"Now about those who sincerely believe "Transformers" is a good, even a great, film. I sincerely believe they are wrong. I don't consider them stupid--at least, not (most of) the ones who write to me."

and this:

"I'll hope however that everyone who paid for a ticket thought they had a good time, because it was their time and their money."

The "sufficiently evolved" comment was talking about people's exposure to movies, nothing else.

doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results...didn't Einstein say that was the definition of insanity?

Now that Godwin's law has been proved once again, doesn't that officially end the thread according to the laws of the interwebz or something?

Michael Bay may not have raped my childhood, but I think he may have molested it.

I have no problems with a critic judging a film, I just hate it when they take it too personally.

I think comparing one such critic to HITLER means that it's us who are taking it personally.

Sadly Twist is on the right track in giving you a big bag of deaf ears. Already read some fan-made articles that basically throw context out the window, too.

Will maintain it was a very poor choice of words, almost entirely for what we can see going on now.
