Well, some friends brought this up and I can't seem to find anything certain about it. Sorry if it's been discussed before - I did use the search function. Does Blackout really have some kind of force field? When the soldier observed him through the scope-like thing (whatever) there was some kind of wave through the screen, but that could just be interference. Later in the desert someone mentioned "it's like there's an invisible force field", but that's just human guessing. Later Scorpnok's tail was said to have "self-regenerating molecular armor" but no mention of a field. So, I just want to know if there is definitive evidence that movieverse TFs could have defensive force fields (not the magnetic hand Jazz used)? Thanks.
trailbreaker does but other than him no not really....just humans prob gettin confused in the desert.
I took it to mean more like an "Electromagnetic Aura". A magnetic field surrounding their bodies that results from the electrical currents flowing within it, that makes it harder to do certain things (like photograph them) because of the interference. Probably also what's being referred to when Transformers talk about being able to sense each other. "He's here, I can smell him..." - Ironhide
I always took that part in TF1 to mean that the soldiers were picking up on the electromagnetic aura that Blackout was using to jam signals during the attack on Qatar. Not that is was a force field.
I think what it's probably more involved with is that all Transformers do have a electrical aura of sorts around them, not necessarily a shield (but we know traditional weapons do little/no damage to them besides sabot rounds). It'd also explain why Simmons has that radiation detector in TF1 and to find Jetfire in ROTF - the aura would be similar to radiation hence they can detect each other.
