Can't compare. The movies can be described as G1 homages and nothing more. Aside from Optimus Prime, the characters bear little resemblence to their original forms. Some rules seem to be applied, like Ratchet has to be a medic and Sideswipe has to be a slick high end vehicle but nothing more.

My theory on why the autobots continue to kick butt is that the Decepticons are larger, more brutal and they rely on that solely.

But the autobots have training on their side, a cohesive millitary practice on organization that seems devoid among the Decepticons. Decepticons almost all of them fight alone.

In literary terms, the autobots have more to lose. They have relationships with people and one another, and are striving to protect themselves. Whether these qualities translate into better odds in reality or not is another matter; but in stories these qualities empower the hero and make him search for that little bit more power inside.

And if you want to blame somebody for Bumblebee's apparent super human qualities, you have to look no further than Simon Furman for his work on the comics. In the first film Bumblebee only fought Barricade and a severely injured Brawl.

 

I liked Bumblebee from G1 (because he's a Volkswagen), but now that he's just this omega ass kicker, I really hate him. I would get messages on youtube from girls telling me how much they love bumblebee because he is sooo cute.

Why the hell is big Ironhide just standing around, and bumblebee is getting all this action. Ironhide needs to show off his cannons/

 

Movie Bee is way better than G1 BB, not that G1 Bumblebee was bad, but Movie Bee is lovable, cute (well, he is) determined, and fucking badass in a fight. He's a little over-eager and doesn't really think ahead too far when shit just happens out of nowhere, but he is a great character.


Also, HE RIPPED SAVAGE RAVAGE APART AND DISMEMBERED THE BOINGY RAMPAGE, all to save his friend and his parents. That's badass.

What exactly was he supposed to do, rip the choppers in half while magically not harming the humans in them? He was surrounded while out in the open and the Autobots had a 'don't harm the humans, even when they try to capture us' rule.

 

Really? Why did he, bumblebee, harm Alice did? headbash, skullcrush, nosebleed and etc. Everybody thinks that Bumblebee did not know Alice was not a decepticon, but he hurt her anyways. Obviously Bumblebee knew Alice was a decepticon

 

I find movie Bumblebee to be boring because he's too powerful. Nothing in the Transformers Movie Universe seems even close to being strong enough to stand up to him so it's like watching Wolverine beat up fat out of shape mall cops or something. No real fight because you know Bumblebee is just going to kill every Decepticon in sight.

 

I enjoy the movie's kick-ass take on BB, but I also enjoyed G1's take of BB as a spy and saboteur.

My man complaint with movie BB is that he's nothing more than a pet for Sam. Might as well give Sam a leash to walk him around with.

 

ROTF Bumblebee is a much better fighter. I like the new BB, its cool to see Sam's car as a great warrior like he should be. The writers and Bay were great in portraying him in this matter.

 

I know they are completely different characters, but I am sick of Bumblebay being some kind of uber powerful warrior, he takes down Rampage and Ravage at once easily, and that is BS.

 

Bumblebee was always a horrible, fighter just like Jetfire. Just get rid of Bumblebee in next movie, at least they killed off Jetfire extremely fast and gracefully

But, yeah. I love the Bee as a fighter, but I'm really not happy with how Movie Bee acts too much like a pet in many scenes as well.

Wait...what? Bee can never be "gotten rid of". He's too popular and important. Pigs are more likely to fly than Bee getting killed off in the movieverse.

r.o., where do you come up with this stuff? At that point in the film Alice was being portrayed as an aggressive, well, slut who had some possible secret about her. She got her face whacked, no blood, no crushing, then she got sprayed with some form of liquid. Bumblebee plays songs such as "Your cheatin' heart" to speak to Sam in a commentary of the situation. Not to mention the fact Bee needed to get Sam to Prime and the girl needed to be ditched. Bumblebee took out Sam's parent's house because of a litter of Kitchencons, but lets a Pretender Decepticon hunting Sam ride inside of him without playing so much as one note from a song including the word "danger"? Without pulling one of those sliding skid-stops so Sam flies out then transforming in order to blast the Decepticon? He just up & lets Alice return to college on foot in order to ambush Sam, hell maybe kill him later on?

Bumblebee most certainly, and quite clearly, did not know Alice was a Pretender.
