Alright, I had to ask. Starscream referred to the little protoforms as hatchlings. They were in some kind of egg sac on the Nemesis. When Megatron goes to smack Screamer around a bit, Starscream tells Megs something to the effect that he had spawned them to be the new Decepticon army.
So like did Starscream lay eggs?  Seriously though where did the hatchlings come from? How did he make baby Transformers?

I hate Transformers. I've been hating Transformers since 1985... and I have the toys, comics, videos and DVD's to prove it.
Independant thought in a fandom can be an unwelcome and dangerous thing.

Maybe that explains why Wheelie knows about humping Mikaela's leg (altho who can blame him?).
I hate Transformers. I've been hating Transformers since 1985... and I have the toys, comics, videos and DVD's to prove it.

Allspark fills worlds with life. (tf07, intro)
Allspark Grows cybertronians through the ground around it (IDW)
Allspark can bring human machines to life, but they seem to be malevolent and simple.
So I guess the hatchlings are allspark created cybertronians brought onboard the Nemesis by the decepticons to grow and further complement their army.
